My Review

4 Terrific Stars!

First of all I'd like to thank Marni Mann because this serial has made me more likely to pick up more serials, like I always try avoid them and feel like they aren't for me. I was so wrong!

“He gave me what I needed...he gave me everything I needed.”

This is the last part in the five part series and oh what a journey it has been.It all came down to this final conclusion where we have everything laid open and how every piece made sense.I'm sad to see it end, I'd have loved more to it. Okay I have to say I was kind of hoping that the ending would have some of hint at babies! Little baby Derek or Frankie and I guess I wanted to see them playing the roles of parents to finish off the serial.

You see character development as the parts go on, you see them change and grow.Even their relationship becomes more open and without all the secrecy there is a growth of trust and love. This serial has been a rough, hopeful, forbidden yet dirty hot and raw. They have surpassed all these roadblocks and finally made it.

I can't wait to read more from Marni Mann because I'm hoping it can only get better ;)

Review: Eden (The Eden Trilogy #1) by Georgia Le Carre

Synopsis

Haunted by memories of her brother’s death, and searching for answers,Lily Hart embarks on a career that takes her into a seedy underworld, where she is exposed to wealth, greed, lust and the reign of gorgeous, powerful, and dangerous men—one man in particular wreaks havoc on her emotions.

At thirty Jake Eden has everything: looks to die for, money, power and a never-ending line of twisted, fucked-up women willing to do anything to get with him. Love? Love was for pussies…until a woman with the stage name of ‘Jewel’ arrives on the scene. She alone is different from all the others.

Oozing pure, unadulterated sex, strong, intelligent and independent, she is everything he should stay away from, but she makes him itch to tame her and keep her for himself.

Her lure is addictive and undeniable and soon he is hooked.

But when the line between betrayal and loyalty is put to test…

Will love be stronger than revenge?

Book 1 of a new trilogy.

My Review

3.5 Stars!

This is book 1 in the Eden trilogy and these are going to be short books I'm presuming since this one was.I don't usually pick up books with under 200 pages give or take. But I was given an arc by the wonderful author and since I loved the other book I read by her called Disfigured Love, I thought I would give it a shot.

Gangster meets pole dancer.. a book filled with romance, chemistry, mystery, deceit and much more..

I liked this one, I just need more..more pages!! It felt a little rushed. And I'm confused with the ending, it's just left me at a part where I don't know whether to hate the female character or not. What is going on?! And now I'm dreading the next book because I don't like it when bad things happen and it looks like that's where things are headed and I'm scared!

I loved Jake's protectiveness and jealousy also that Lily brought out a softer side to him that no one else gets to see. Aww I just wanted to give him a big hug! I'd like to know more about his past and find out if it is connected with Lily's past.

Jake and Lily definitely had chemistry and it was hot, it was insta-lust which turned out to be more. This book is in dual pov and now I will definitely carry on with this series and I still love this author and can't wait to see how things turn out with Jake and Lily. And what happened to Jake's brother? Hope to see more of him and I want to know I NEED TO KNOW! wtf is happening with Lily. What the hell has she got herself into!

If you want a quick steamy read with some mystery this is a book for you!

About the Author
I love to read. I'm a huge fan of books and when I start reading anything, I usually forgo doing everything else, I mean the housework will still be there in the morning (right?). When I love a story or book that I've downloaded, I usually refrain from sleep and am crabby the next day - but only until I pick my iPad up and start reading again! The idea for my debut novel HiT 149, came to me as I was chopping my vegetables for dinner and before the night was over I had written 10 chapters! My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it's only for a split second. I'm a go with the flow sort of person and don't really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don't usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I'll be happy to accept. I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. But I can be a bit daft sometimes and need to be told very specifically or it'll go over my head! I really don't like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don't believe that's necessary, I mean life is hard enough as it is. I hope you enjoy my books, I've had a hoot writing them. There's more to come, and not all from the same series... Til next time

Excerpt
Fuck. I just killed two people. I look down at my hands and they are shaking. Am I shaking or is it because it’s cold outside? It’s the early hours of the morning and I’ve put a bullet in Damon and Nox’s head. My gaze tries to look around but all I see is black. No cars approaching. Just the abandoned vehicle with two bodies pulled up towards the break down lane. I try to focus but there is this knot in my stomach; it feels like it’s travelling up towards my throat. I feel the Birthday cupcake that Dad had for me starting to make its way north, back into my mouth. I’m not sure I can hold onto it. My breath is hitched and it feels like my heart is going to implode. If I die here on the road, no one will be able to claim me. Everyone important to me is dead. Dad - Henry. Is it raining? What can I feel? I look up and the sky is black and cloudless. It’s not raining. I touch my face to where the wetness is; my brain is in neutral, not going anyway. I stand on the same spot for I don’t know how long but it seems like I’m starting to see through the smokiness and haze that is surrounding my conscious. I close my eyes and try and calm myself. The bile that is threatening to make an appearance is starting to recede. Deep breath in through my nose and out through my mouth. My mind is clearing up. The hair on my arms is starting to stand to attention and the feeling of imminent doom is close by. My feet are trying to save themselves, and me. They have started running, not towards my old home that now lays in burning embers but away from it. I need to run and start a new life, but with whom? I have no one I can go to. Maybe a school friend? No one. Maybe a teacher? No not even them. I’m not going to become a ward of the state I need to fight for myself now. Where will I go? What can I do? With limited money I’ve taken from a now deceased Damon and Nox, but with no clothes, no food, no home and no one who loves me. Fuck me. What the fuck am I going to do?

My Review
5 Learning-To-Kill Stars!!

Wow!
This is a short brilliant novella giving an insight on Anna's childhood, how she survived after her father was killed.I totally loved the first book in the HiT series and couldn't wait for more. This is fast-paced and you will have it read in no time as it takes you into the Anna's life as a child. She never got the time to have a normal childhood, then again was she ever normal? With guns as her friends and her only family being her deceased father she had to grow up fast become a mature women even though she was only 15 years old.

15 is the age my life changed.

You'll address me as 15.

What happens when she saves a mans life? Saving Lukas's life could be her best opportunity to get even with the man who sent the men to kill her father or it could turn out to be her worst nightmare.

Lukas is the best, he knows it all so when he sees Anna he sees an opportunity to mold her into the most notorious assassin around.
It won't be easy and not everything will go as planned.
How well will Anna cope with the brutal training?

“Fucking focus Anna. You think this is tough? You think this is the worst you’ll get? I’m here teaching you to save your fucking life here Anna. This could be the difference between jail or a bullet in the fucking head. Fucking focus. Stop this bullshit”

Anna has to learn to become a cold-blooded killer with no emotion, no feelings.

Breathe. In and Out

She is determined to be the best at everything Lukas puts her through. He is distant with her yet she feels safe with him. He is her role model and she will do her best to accomplish each goal he sets.

“You can chain me, you can torture me, you can even destroy this body, but you will never imprison my mind.”

My Review

One proposition..One weekend..no strings attached..

what could possible go wrong?

4 short, sweet, I-want-more Stars!!

This is a story of Spencer Cannon and Dakota Vercelli..
Spencer is a no nonsense business man a total workaholic who has his cousins wedding to attend at the weekend, everything is all fine until last minute he find out that his obsessive ex-girlfriend Ava, has told everyone how she wants to be back with him and will try her best on the weekend to sort things out between them..

This is a big no-no for Spencer as he doesn't think they were compatible and he isn't interested. To get Ava to stop bothering him and move on he has to think of something and fast..then his brother suggests he bring a date but at such short notice where will he find her from?

Dakota Vercelli (Coda) is having a bad night she is struggling with money issues.College debts, pending eviction, and her sick mother are taking a toll on her. After being overheard by Spencer on the phone to her mother who is worried about money, she leaves thinking nothing of it..

After seeing Coda, Spencer is intrigued by her. She is beautiful and he is shocked he has never seen her before.A plan pops into his head and he goes to where she works..

A proposition for Coda to spend the weekend with him for money..Its a win win situation right? So what could go wrong?

I enjoyed this book even though I felt it was too short! I wanted more, the ending felt like things were just getting started..
I enjoyed how Coda teases Spencer, he really needed to loosen up and she was perfect for him.I hope this turns into a series!!

“I have a proposition for you.”
“A proposition?” What could he possibly have to offer her?
“I have to attend my cousin’s wedding this weekend. Actually, I have to leave tomorrow afternoon. I don’t want to go alone for reasons I don’t wish to discuss right now. I need someone to accompany me. I’m offering that to you.”
“And you think I’m ‘to the point’?”
He smiled but didn’t say anything. She couldn’t stand the silence. She wanted to figure out his game. There had to be some sort of catch.
“You want me to go to a wedding with you?”
“It’s in Connecticut. I would require your services until Sunday afternoon. All of your expenses would be paid, including a wardrobe which would be yours to keep after the weekend.”
“You need a date?”
“I would need you to appear as my girlfriend.”
“Is this a joke?”
“I wouldn’t joke about something like this. I’ve thought the entire thing through.”
“A man who looks like you should have no problem finding a real girlfriend to buy clothes for and flaunt in front of his family.” She thought for a moment. “Unless there’s something wrong with you.”
“There’s nothing wrong with me.” He raised his voice a bit. “I had planned on attending alone but circumstances have changed. I’m in a bind and from what I gather, you are too.”
Her instincts screamed to run in the opposite direction. She’d never been the type to fall for a scam. “I’m not interested in—”
“I’ll pay you two hundred and fifty thousand dollars for your time.”
“What?” Apparently a side of crazy came with those good looks.
“One hundred and twenty-five thousand today, if you agree.” He pulled out a check from the inside pocket of the jacket he had draped on the back of the chair. He slipped the mint green paper across the table. “You’ll get the rest on Sunday afternoon.”
“That’s fifty grand a day.” She studied the check. It would take her years to make that kind of money working these shit-end jobs.
“I’m aware.” He nodded as if the money meant nothing. “I’m asking for your time, a commodity I believe should be well compensated.”
Too good to be true.
“Do you make it a habit of paying women to be your girlfriend?”
“Pretend girlfriend,” he reminded her. “You would be the first.”
“Why me?”
“Does it matter?”
“What exactly do you expect me to do for that money?”
“I told you.” He narrowed his eyes. “I need a date for a long weekend. Everyone needs to think we’re a couple.”
“You’re willing to pay me to go away with you for four days. I’m supposed to take your word we’re going to a wedding in Connecticut? How do I know you won’t kidnap me and want to do all sorts of kinky stuff to me? You could be some sex-obsessed lunatic.”
“Kinky stuff?”
“Yeah, you know, like bondage and blindfolds.”
“Do you like that sort of thing?” He tried to conceal his smirk.
