Review: The Air He Breathes (Elements #1) by Brittainy C. Cherry

Synopsis
I was warned about Tristan Cole.
“Stay away from him,” people said.
“He’s cruel.”
“He’s cold.”
“He’s damaged.”

It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster.

But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.

We were both empty.
We were both looking for something else. Something more.
We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.

Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.

My Review
4.5 Beautiful Stars!

I loved this book, it's just what I needed after reading some meh, okay ish books that really didn't do it for me.I need to firstly mention that I adore this authors books and writing, it's just amazing! You just don't expect the things that happen to happen and I have been meaning to review a book of hers. Every time something happens and I totally forget or I'm so busy I don't get a chance but this time I said to myself, as soon as you finish you will review this book even if its a short review so here it goes ;)

'People in town called him an asshole, and I could see why. He wasn’t nice, he wasn’t stable, and he was broken in all of the wrong and right places.'

I heard this was an emotional read and a lot of people had written in places they cried and I have got to agree it did have the heavy emotional bits that ripped you apart but there was so much more, it was funny, sweet, raw and beautiful.The author did a brilliant job and I vow to never put off any more of Brittainy C. Cherry's book that I download!

"No soulmate leaves the world alone; they always take a piece f their other half long with them."

This is a book about two people who have gone through a hard time and lost loved ones, it changes people. It can turn some into monsters, it can cause you to become closed off and shut down or it can change you for the better. Death changes people, you never come out the same. But you have to always remember that everything happens for a reason.

"Tristan?"

"Yes?"
"Kiss Me?"

I don't want to go into detail about it because I think people need to stop reading synopsis and just kind of jump into books and find out for themselves. Experience it without reading what its about or knowing exactly what you will be stepping into. This book does have twists you don't see coming and basically I want more. The main characters were great even supporting characters I want Faye to have her own story. Tristan and Faye's shit burning seen was frikin hilarious!

'During the light days, we held each other close.During the dark days, we held each other closer.'

The one thing that made me mad was near the end half. Tristan you do not do that, that was messed up. I understood why he went and why he needed to but no communication? So abruptly without calmly thinking things through and I get it things where pretty crazy but being in Lizzie's position I don't know if I could be that forgiving but other than that it was awesome and I'm looking forward for more!!

Review: Black Box by Cassia Leo

Synopsis
Over the course of five years, Mikki and Crush cross paths on three separate occasions. Their first encounter changes Mikki’s life forever, but their second meeting leaves them both buried beneath the emotional wreckage of a violent attack. Mikki is left with more questions and grief than she can handle, while Crush is forced to forget the girl who saved his life.

Now nineteen years old, Mikki Gladstone has decided she’s tired of the mind-numbing meds. She books a flight to Los Angeles to end her life far away from her loving, though often distant, family.

Twenty-one-year-old Crush has always channeled his blackest thoughts into his music, but he’s never had great aspirations. He decides to fly to Los Angeles to record a demo of the only song he’s never performed in public; a song he wrote for a girl he doesn’t even know: Black Box. He has no expectations of fame and he’s never felt like his life had any purpose… until he meets Mikki in Terminal B.

When Mikki and Crush cross paths for the third time in Terminal B, neither has any idea who the other person is; until they slowly piece together their history and realize that fate has more in store for them than just another love story.

My Review
3 Black Box Stars!!

I have had this arc for a while and finally got round to it. I don't know what it was I thought would happen in this book but its really wasn't anything like i was expecting. I thought it was well written yet at times I felt like its was too slow for me, it dragged at times and I wanted it to pick up speed.I loved how this book was unique and the synopsis really draws you in.

This book alternates between Crush and Mikki's POV so we get to know both the characters as individuals and what is happening in their life.I always love dual POVs since I feel like it makes you feel more connected to both characters and you don't feel as frustrated with their actions because you can kind of see where they are coming from.

I don’t believe in coincidence or fate

But I know one thing for sure
Your face was meant to be
Burned into the deepest reaches
Of my blackest memories.

Mikki's POV was written really well and it was pretty depressing being in her head. She wanted to die, she had finally had enough.Totally felt what she was feeling yet I wanted to reach in and change it all. Scream that she couldn't kill herself, keep fighting!It was like no hope left and then in walks Crush and things start looking up.Pieces start joining together and we find about how they met before and what happened in the past to change both their lives.

I loved Crush! Bless him, he was so patient and loving.He also had a rough past, one that still haunts him but Mikki changed his life a few years back. He just didn't know who she was at that point.But another meeting, different circumstances and fate pushing to make them meet. What will happen? Will it all end in tragedy?

“...not all stories have happy endings; but that doesn't mean they're not worth the read.”

Overall it was okay but I don't think it was a book for me. I didn't really that connected to the characters and wanted more from the ending.This is the first book I have read by Cassia Leo and since lots of her books have been recommended to me I will check them out and see how they go!

Will their relationship survive an ex-wife with an agenda or will her past come between them... or kill them?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Review
4 Brilliant, Moving Stars!
This is the first book I have read by C.P.Smith and it definitely won't be my last.When I got offered to review this book I really didn't know what to expect, I didn't even read the synopsis and dove right in.I ended up reading late into the night and after forcing myself to put it down and I woke up in the morning and finished it off.
Hope and Nic are to people who have been broken, their past tortures them and no matter what they do they can't run from it.Two lost souls drifting around without any peace or bliss. Nic has lost his daughter and is making sure that he does everything right for his son.Hope is running from her past, she can't get too close to people as she will have to move on soon enough to make sure her past doesn't catch up with her.
“Learn quickly, sugar…I will love you, fight with you, die for you, but I will also put your sweet ass over my knee if you run from me.”
When Nic and Hope meet, sparks fly and they are drawn to each other. Nic sees Hope as his angel, so pure and warm. He wants her, to make her his, to protect her from the demons she is fighting.Hope sees the same struggle, sorrow in Nic's eyes as she has seen in her own when she looks in the mirror.But Nic needs to be focused on his son and Hope can't let herself get close to him. So how does this all work?
Well you see there is this little magician called Maman Rose who waves her wand..well she doesn't, she just does her best to throw them together.
“God gave me three gifts in this life; one he took too soon, one that makes me proud each day and one I never saw coming until she stumbled into my life and woke me up. I won’t take them for granted another day, and I’ll fight like hell to keep them safe,”
The main characters in this book are older than the age I usually stick to.Hope is 38yrs old and Nic is 42yrs old and well that I wasn't too comfortable with this at the start.Is it just me that likes the main characters to be close to my age range or a little older but not too much older? I guess at times I can make an exception if the hero is older (out of my comfort zone old) than the heroine but she has to be at the age range I am comfortable with.I don't mean like he is 90 and she is 21 but more like she is 25 and he is 38? Something like that I can just about handle.There are always the odd few that are older and I've been fine with as long as the age thing doesn't keep popping back up throughout the book.*sigh* I'm rambling. Let's get back to the point.
“Nic Beauve, plain and simple, is the sexiest man she’d ever encountered, and she needed to be in his presence like she needed at hole in the head.”
Even though at the start the age bothered me I got over it by imagining the characters younger ;)
I usually avoid books with characters who have kids in a previous marriage I prefer the character to have no kids at the start or babies I can deal with babies lol I don't even know why but that's the way I prefer books.Not saying that's always the case I have read book with main characters with kids and enjoyed the book just like this one!
I enjoyed the character development and how the characters began to open up.Loved the banter and romance.This book was about how experiences changes a person but its all about what you do with these experiences.Loss can make or break a person it just depends on how you handle it.This book showed how you should never give up hoping, hoping for something better.If you lose hope you lose a big part of you.And sometimes that little bit of hope can change your life.
“He forced her to stay, made her believe that she could have a life, something beautiful, to dream again. And for that, she would do her best to help him heal, give him the love he needed to move forward while she watched over their shoulders.”
Death.
For Aubrey Miller, death is the definition of her very existence. As she enters her first year of college, her goal is simple: Earn a degree with the least amount of social interaction as possible. What she never anticipates is the formation of very unlikely relationships with two people who will change her life in ways she never believed possible: Quinn Matthews, the boisterous former pageant queen, and Kaeleb McMadden, a childhood friend from her past who never really let her go.
Over the years, as their connections intertwine and grow, a seemingly indestructible bond is formed between the three…
Excerpt
“Thank you so much, Quinn. This day has been…unbelievable. And I owe it all to you. You have no idea.” My voice trembles a bit with the admission, because she really has no idea what she’s done for me today.
I feel normal.
A normal girl, about to have a normal birthday celebration with her friends, in a normal (albeit spectacular) dress, with normal hair and make-up.
The only thing that’s missing is a pair of normal shoes.
“Shoes! I need shoes!” I exclaim.
“No, you don’t.” Quinn giggles and reaches for the knob of my bedroom door.
“What? Why wouldn’t I need shoes?”
That makes no sense.
She’s drunker than I thought.
That’s it, I’m officially hiding the champagne.
“You’ll see,” she says just as there’s a knock at the front door.
She winks. “Trust me. Just, stay in here. Don’t come out until someone comes to get you.”
After Quinn quietly shuts the door behind her, I remain seated. As the sounds of Kaeleb’s murmur filters into my room, a nervous excitement flitters through my belly and spreads into my chest. My joy takes flight and I breathe in deeply, contentment pumping enthusiastically with each thrumming heartbeat.
Damn, it feels good to be alive.
I don’t have to wait for long. After a very loud squeal from Quinn in the other room, there’s a knock at my door. My pulse kicks up and I rise from the bed, smoothing out my dress. With a glance in the mirror, I pluck a couple of sections of my new hair with my fingers and set them back into place. “Come in,” I remark, turning in the direction of the door.
The handle turns and as Kaeleb pokes his head around the corner, his eyes find mine. His eyebrows rise as his mouth falls slightly open, and he breaks my gaze as his focus shifts to take in my hair, my exposed neck and the line of my dress. He holds his stare briefly at the crystalline sash lining my waist, and then slowly drifts down to my smoothly-shaven legs and perfectly painted toenails. The left side of his mouth quirks up as he clears his throat, frozen in place. He tears his scrutiny away from my feet to fully step into the room, then turns away from me to shut the door.
I take advantage of the 1.5 seconds his back is turned, and survey him from head to toe. His light-blue button-up is folded to his elbows, displaying the prominence of the flexed muscles along his forearms. As he places both palms on the door and leans into them, his shirt rides up enough for me to see the designs on the back pockets of his dark jeans. They hug his ass perfectly, and for the first time in my life, I want to slide my hands right into those pockets just to feel the hardness of his toned body.
My fingers itch with the need to touch him, but I maintain control while Kaeleb braces against the door, inhaling and exhaling deeply. He stays planted there for a few more seconds until I suddenly begin to feel self-conscious. I run my hands over my hair and dress to make sure everything is as it should be.
Just as I start to ask him if he’s all right, he whips around with a full smile on his face. A few long strides later, and he’s standing right in front of me. Raising both hands, he traces the tips of his fingers along the sides of my cheeks, leaving a scorching trail as they run down my neck and thread themselves into the hair at my nape. With his thumbs underneath my chin, he tilts my head back and looks me directly in the eyes.
“You look amazing, Sunshine. Truly breathtaking.” His head dips slightly and he runs his lips tentatively along mine, the movement so sensual I can’t keep my hands off of him any longer. Fisting his shirt in my hands, I pull him into me and press my mouth hard against his, the need to taste him overriding my caution. A whimper rises in my throat and escapes into his mouth as his tongue slides in between my lips, slowly and deliberately, taking his time to stroke and caress mine. His hold tightens as his fingers curl deeper into my hair, the tinge of pain sending shockwaves of pleasure coursing through my body until they land right in between my legs, the throbbing sensation growing with each strike.
After another gentle sweep of his tongue, he lessens the kiss and pulls back slightly. His lips brush against mine before they slide over to the corner of my mouth, up along my cheek, and then rest them against my ear as he breathes, “Happy birthday. The dress is phenomenal.”
EXCERPT
"Planting Seeds of Love"
“I think my bean was lonely, so I want to plant two of them together right here, in the ground. Grammy says that it’s portant that roots have lots of room to grow so that they’re strong and healthy. She also said that you have to watch for weeds and yank them out right away so that they don’t hurt the plants.” She made a quick jerking motion as if she were pulling at something.
The boots squeaked as Madison knelt down and dug a small hole. Sensing the importance of this moment, the adults looked on, and then at each other. “Now is the most portant part. Grammy said that nothing grows without love, so here Miss Abby, kiss these lima beans.” Abby looked at Madison then Caleb. She figured she might as well kiss the beans and get it over with. She watched Caleb’s eyes fixed on her pouty-lipped kiss. Once her lips left the seeds, Madison placed them into Caleb’s large palm. “Your turn Daddy.” He paused a moment, then gave them a quick peck. “My turn.” Madison picked the seeds up from Caleb’s hand with her delicate fingers, kissed them, and swayed back and forth, as though she was hugging the beans. She said a little prayer then placed them in the hole she’d dug. “Now I’m going to cover them so that they're nice and warm.” She smoothed her hand across the soil, pushing dirt over the gap. “I just know they’ll grow because they're happy, loved, and not lonely anymore.” While still kneeling, she poured some water on top of the small dirt mound.
Something in the air shifted as Abby and Caleb’s eyes met, knowing this statement was truer than the sweet little girl who'd said it would understand. “I think you're right sweetie. Everyone needs love and companionship to thrive.” Caleb continued his deep gaze into Abby’s eyes as she held her stare into his.
AUTHOR PROFILE
Kimi lives in So Ca with her high school sweetheart, prom date, and now husband of over 20 years as well as with her two boys that bring so much joy and laughter to her life. There is never a dull moment in Kimi's day with these three guys by her side. They are happily involved in volunteer work with several local non-profit organizations and believe that everyone needs to do their part, so a portion of her sales will always go to charity.
At an early age, Kimi discovered the magical world of imagination. Many stories were written as well as illustrated by her as a child. Not realizing at the time that she had dyslexia, schoolwork became extremely difficult, and her confidence as a reader and writer dwindled. Thanks to a high school teacher who took the time to invest in her, Kimi found a love for literary legends such as Nathaniel Hawthorne, Washington Irving and Jane Austen. This teacher helped Kimi create one of the happiest school memories she holds. Discovering in college that she had the learning disability was terribly discouraging since help was not readily available and her reading and writing confidence fell once again.
Needing to find a distraction when her husband unexpectedly ended up in the hospital for a week, Kimi explored the indie reading world. Jumping in with everything she had, Kimi pushed herself to read over 150 books last year. During that process, many characters reappeared in her imagination and insisted that their stories be told. Putting all self-doubt and barriers aside, she started writing the outlines and drafts for the four books in her Intertwined Hearts Series as well as bits and pieces of the three books in her next series, Down by the Bay.
Her message to you is similar to that of pop icon, will.i.am's:
~You can focus on your problems or you can focus on your dreams ~
Review: Making Faces by Amy Harmon
Synopsis
Ambrose Young was beautiful. He was tall and muscular, with hair that touched his shoulders and eyes that burned right through you. The kind of beautiful that graced the covers of romance novels, and Fern Taylor would know. She'd been reading them since she was thirteen. But maybe because he was so beautiful he was never someone Fern thought she could have...until he wasn't beautiful anymore.
Making Faces is the story of a small town where five young men go off to war, and only one comes back. It is the story of loss. Collective loss, individual loss, loss of beauty, loss of life, loss of identity. It is the tale of one girl's love for a broken boy, and a wounded warrior's love for an unremarkable girl. This is a story of friendship that overcomes heartache, heroism that defies the common definitions, and a modern tale of Beauty and the Beast, where we discover that there is a little beauty and a little beast in all of us
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*
My Review
5 BEAUTIFUL, HEART-BREAKING, EMOTIONAL STARS!
"I think people are like that.When you really look at them, you stop seeing the perfect nose or straight teeth.You stop seeing the acne scar or the dimple in the chin.Those things start to blur, and suddenly you see them, the colors, the life inside the shell, and beauty takes on a whole new meaning."
Oh where do I start? This book made my heart-ache so bad and it really makes you view people ourselves differently.Are we so shallow that we love/idolise people based on how they look no matter how ugly they are deep down? Or that we hate and bully because we can't see the beauty deep down? or that we don't even give some people a chance to show their beauty because they don't have a perfect face and body?
This is a inspiring, brilliant book which rendered me speechless.It explores the aspect that a beautiful face doesn't necessarily mean a beautiful person.Are we truly blind can we not see the true beauty within? Do some people feel that an ugly person doesn't feel the same as a beautiful one?
To me everyone is beautiful in some way or another.Never judge someone by the face they wear.The beautiful good looking man can be an abusive evil person, and someone with a disfigured face may have a heart of gold, don't let looks fool you.
"If God makes all faces, did he laugh when he made mine?
Does he make the legs that cannot walk and eyes that cannot see?
Does he curl the hair upon my head til it rebels in wild defiance?
Does he close the ears of a deaf man to make him more reliant?
Is the way I look coincidence or just a twist of fate?
If he made me this way, is it okay, to blame him for the things I hate?
For the flaws that seem to worsen every time I see a mirror.
For the ugliness I see in me, for the loathing and the fear.
Does he sculpt us for his own pleasure, for a reason I can't see?
If God makes all our faces, did he laugh when he made me?
This poem right here really got to me! Its written by one of the main characters called Fern.Fern is not pretty or beautiful like her friend Rita who all the guys seem to chase after, she doesn't have straight hair or teeth, not an amazing body, nope none of that but she has a beautiful heart and soul.Fern has always had a crush on Ambrose but then again who wouldn't he was beautiful but Fern saw more than what met the eye.She fell for his intelligence, his heart, his mind and much more.But Fern never expected Ambrose to ever like her back, why would he?
Ambrose had it all, beauty, popularity, girls and he was the best at what he loved, wrestling. He had is all going in life until he decided to join the army and drag four of his good friends with him. What happens when his life in the army explodes and everything changes.
What happens when Ambrose isn't beautiful anymore?
What happens when he has no friends left?
"Ambrose knew what it felt like to be whole, to be perfect, to be Hercules. How cruel to suddenly fall from such heights. Life had given Ambrose another face and Fern wondered if he would ever be able to accept it."
Bailey is Ferns cousin and best friend they have always stuck by each other and I loved their relationship.Bailey has Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He may be bound by his wheelchair but this guy is a true hero. Bailey makes you think a lot about all the things we take for granted, about all the things we complain about. Are we really so blind that we don't see that there are people in worse conditions than you and me?
Imagine knowing that you will die before you get old?
Imagine living day to day life knowing death is around the corner.
Imagine knowing that you cant have a relationship, or a family because you really wont be around for long.
"How do you stand it, Bailey? Looking death in the face for so long?"
Bailey shrugged and glanced at him curiously.
"You act like death is the worst thing."
Bailey has always wanted to be a wrestler, his dad is the coach and even though he cant wrestle he always comes to every practice.Bailey thinks of Ambrose as his hero, what he would do to be in Ambrose's shoes for just one day. To do all the things he can do, even if it is just for one day.After Ambrose's life changes Bailey teaches him a lot, about living in the moment, about never taking things for granted. I felt so sorry for Bailey I really wanted to have the power to give him what he wanted for a day ahh I wanted to curl up into a ball and scream why is life so unfair!?
"I have no pride left, Ambrose!" Bailey said. "No pride. But it was my pride or my life. I had to choose. So do you. You can have your pride and sit here and make cupcakes and get old and fat and nobody will give a damn after awhile. Or you can trade that pride in for a little humility and take your life back."
When Ambrose returns Fern wants to help him, everything has changed yet she still finds him beautiful. Ambrose is filled with guilt, shame, self hatred and he just can't get over is. He can't face everyone, the people who idolised him, the people who wanted him to succeed and those who always thought he would do them proud.
"You are still beautiful," Fern said softly, her face turned to his..
"I think that statement is more a reflection of your beauty than mine," Ambrose said eventually..
Fern is just so damn cute as a kid awww bless her heart she is so damn beautiful with such a pure heart.She has been kicked down by people around her yet she walks through life with a smile.fern and Ambrose form a special relationship she understands him..she used to feel the same thing.She used to feel ugly too.
Three lives all connected, these three main characters take you on an inspirational journey..So grab some tissues and start reading!
"..Maybe then I could get some action.Problem is, how am I going to get a handful of tit if I can't lift my arms?"
Ambrose choked, laughing at Bailey's irreverence, but Bailey continued, unfazed.
Omg I loved this book, it was sweet, funny, so damn emotional and bloody beautiful! At the start I was like hmmm third person POV oh no! I prefer first person POv so the start I felt was a little slow and the flipping from past to present had me a little confused but as soon as I got into it ahh I could not stop!
This is the first book I have read by Amy Harmon and it wont be the last.This was very well written and I am so glad I got an arc.
"Do you think about how I look when you kiss me?"
"Yes." His voice was raspy."I think about your long red hair and your sweet mouth, and the way your little body feels when its pressed up against me, and I just want to put my hands on you.Everywhere.And I forget that I am ugly and alone and confused as hell."
My Review
"My name is Anna Brookes and I am the most dangerous woman you will ever know.I am the best assassin in the world."
Wow! I loved this book, what a bloody roller-coaster. I was hooked right from the start and I really didn't want it to end.
Anna's is a killer..Are killers born or are they created?
Anna is a strong, deadly, independent, arrogant at times woman with revenge and killing on her mind.
From the first time she held a gun she knew that she would always want it, need it..Shooting was always easy for her she became a star at the shooting range.Her aim was always on point.
"Mistake number one. There is no warning in this business. There is no second chances. Which is why, I was on top of my game.
There is no hesitation. No second chances. No doubts. No emotions. No feelings."
Her life is turned upside down at the age of 15 when two shady men become interested in her talent and end up destroying her only living family.She has to learn to survive by herself. In a world so cruel that its either kill or be killed.
"If I don't take out the target, I become the target."
What happens when things change? What happens when she meets a man she cant stop thinking about and then finds out that he is her next victim.
When Anna meets Ben sparks fly and things seem much more than a one night stand.She cant have that, she cant get close to him but it seems that life has other plans.
At the start of this book you meet a woman who is content in her life, she is a killer and she has embraced her lifestyle there is nothing amiss. At the end of this book you find out that she is much more human than she makes out to be, she wants and needs love as much as everyone else its just that she has been alone for so long and avoids attachments that she feels like she is numb to it all.
"I an untraceable, I am unidentifiable, I am a ghost.I choose to have no friends; I choose to live a life of isolation and solitude."
This book had everything I needed, it was hot, fast-paced, heart-racing, filled with suspense mystery and much more.All I can say is ..Wow you go girl..now give me book 2 NOW!:D
There were so many unexpected twists and turns I was never bored I felt like I was in an action movie!Oh and I loved Ben, he is amazing all the way through I hope we find out more about him and maybe some more from his POV. This book was in Anna's POV and it's awesome but I want more Ben as well!
Blurb-
On the outside, Liberty Davis appeared to have it all…a loving family, a tight knit circle of friends, and a bright future ahead of her. Everything was perfect. That is until her brother tragically took his own life, turning her whole world upside down.
Left to pick up the pieces of her broken family, Liberty is faced with focusing all of her attention on helping her parents cope with the loss of their son, while putting her own life on the back burner. But what no one seems to realize is that she is just as broken inside.
Now, four years later, twenty year old Liberty is taking back the reins of her life. She leaves behind everything she’s ever known, hoping to make a fresh start…one where she isn’t faced with the constant reminder that her brother is nothing more than faded memory. What she didn’t expect to find along the way was Shayne.
Tall, dark and tattooed, Shayne Thompson has developed quite a reputation for being a player. Despite everyone’s negative perception, Liberty still finds herself drawn to him. When she learns that Shayne knows all too well what it feels like to lose someone you love, she finds that they have a lot more in common than just a physical attraction.
When Liberty discovers a secret from Shayne’s past that threatens to tear them apart, she begins to question everything she’s ever felt for him. Will Liberty choose to follow her heart or will she give up the one person who finally made her feel whole again?
My Review!
4 Oh-Shit-I-Knew-That-Would-Happen Stars!
Liberty Davis has ran away from the only life she knew she needs to be away from her past, away from her family so she travels to a new place and meets new people.
But will this new place bring a whole new drama, a whole new pain?
She has left her broken family and is trying to pick up all the broken pieces and move forward.Nothing has been the same for her since her brother who she adored,who she thought of as her best friend took his own life.No one knows why he did it but when Liberty found his body Liberty's world crumbles. Her parents begin leaning on her and she has to take care of them..Nobody was dealing with the fact that her brother had left them. She had to get away and find a chance to start over.
When she moves away she never would have thought that she would meet not one but two guys who want her, who care about her! Okay I hate love triangles but this this was cool..there wasn't cheating and stupid stuff about like the woman jumping from one guy to another and back again. I did feel like she led Brett on but he is more of a brother and Shane is just too perfect for her.
Shane is a hot, tattooed, amazing guy who knows the pain of losing a loved one. He used to be a man-whore didn't ever do relationships but he is a changed man now and wants to make it work with Liberty.
Funny, loving, caring, cocky and bloody hot..a bad boy turned good, what more do you want?
Meeting Brett gets Liberty a job and a place to live in..this is when she meets Maddie , Brett's sister loud and talkative with secrets of her own. So what is it that connects them all, a secret that will tear them up..What will happen when secrets are revealed and the past and present collide.
I really enjoyed this book I was hooked from the start and didn't put it down until I finished but all the way through it I was like ohh shit I know whats going to happen..oh god please dont happen ahhhh.At the start I was like Awww Brett you are perfect and think uhmm Shane who? You cant possibly out do Brett I mean C'mon!..Next thing I know I love Shane and Brett meh he has been pushed aside haha He gets on my nerves later on in the book, Brett is a lovely guy and everything but just not the guy for Liberty.
This was a quick,fast paced, heart-breaking story with a twist that can ruin it all..
She’s a sucker for off-color humor, but holds a sweet spot for sick and twisted horror films.
Thanks to authors like J. K. Rawling, Stephanie Meyer and E. L. James, Maureen has rediscovered her love for reading.
