Review: The Air He Breathes (Elements #1) by Brittainy C. Cherry

Synopsis
I was warned about Tristan Cole.
“Stay away from him,” people said.
“He’s cruel.”
“He’s cold.”
“He’s damaged.”

It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster.

But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.

We were both empty.
We were both looking for something else. Something more.
We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.

Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.

My Review
4.5 Beautiful Stars!

I loved this book, it's just what I needed after reading some meh, okay ish books that really didn't do it for me.I need to firstly mention that I adore this authors books and writing, it's just amazing! You just don't expect the things that happen to happen and I have been meaning to review a book of hers. Every time something happens and I totally forget or I'm so busy I don't get a chance but this time I said to myself, as soon as you finish you will review this book even if its a short review so here it goes ;)

'People in town called him an asshole, and I could see why. He wasn’t nice, he wasn’t stable, and he was broken in all of the wrong and right places.'

I heard this was an emotional read and a lot of people had written in places they cried and I have got to agree it did have the heavy emotional bits that ripped you apart but there was so much more, it was funny, sweet, raw and beautiful.The author did a brilliant job and I vow to never put off any more of Brittainy C. Cherry's book that I download!

"No soulmate leaves the world alone; they always take a piece f their other half long with them."

This is a book about two people who have gone through a hard time and lost loved ones, it changes people. It can turn some into monsters, it can cause you to become closed off and shut down or it can change you for the better. Death changes people, you never come out the same. But you have to always remember that everything happens for a reason.

"Tristan?"

"Yes?"
"Kiss Me?"

I don't want to go into detail about it because I think people need to stop reading synopsis and just kind of jump into books and find out for themselves. Experience it without reading what its about or knowing exactly what you will be stepping into. This book does have twists you don't see coming and basically I want more. The main characters were great even supporting characters I want Faye to have her own story. Tristan and Faye's shit burning seen was frikin hilarious!

'During the light days, we held each other close.During the dark days, we held each other closer.'

The one thing that made me mad was near the end half. Tristan you do not do that, that was messed up. I understood why he went and why he needed to but no communication? So abruptly without calmly thinking things through and I get it things where pretty crazy but being in Lizzie's position I don't know if I could be that forgiving but other than that it was awesome and I'm looking forward for more!!

Review: A Perfect Ten (Forbidden Men, #5) by Linda Kage

Synopsis

Let your hair down, Caroline, they said. It'll be fun, they said.

I know I've closed myself off in a major way over the past year, ever since “the incident” where I messed up my life completely. It's past time I try to live again or just give up altogether. But this is quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever done. In a last ditch effort to invigorate myself, I'm standing outside Oren Tenning's bedroom, I just peeled off the sexiest pair of underwear I own, and my hand is already raised to knock. My brother would disown me for doing anything with his best friend, and he'd probably kill Oren. But if I play my cards right, no one will ever know about this. Not even Ten.

Maybe after tonight, I’ll finally get over this stupid, irrational crush I hate having on the biggest jerk I’ve ever met. Or maybe I’ll just end up falling for him even harder. Maybe I’ll discover there’s so much more to my crude, carefree hunk than meets the eye

5 Perfect Stars!!

"You're seriously breaking all my rules.You know that right?"
Her smile just grew.
"I'm beginning to get a clue"

Linda Kage continues to blow me away.As soon as I start any book of hers I just can't stop until I have finished it.So yeah all yesterday I was sneaking around trying to get a little extra reading in because I needed more, I just couldn't put it down and then wait this is the worst part..it ended! How fukin dare it end when I'm not done with it yet? I wanted it to carry on for at least 300 pages more or forever..that works too.

I was already a Caroline fan since I met her in Quinn's book, I'm not sure if she is in any other book I started the series from Be my hero and need to read the previous two books. And Ten was always a joker, at times rude and annoying but I always knew there would be more to him. LK made me fall in love with Oren so hard and gave this book a bit of everything. At times I was laughing out loud and the next on the verge of tears. Caroline was funny and obviously Oren was bloody hilarious, at times he said inappropriate things and still made them sound sweet and adorable!

“What the fuck have you done to me Caroline? … Why couldn’t I stay away from you? … Why can’t I get enough of you? … What do I want to own every fucking piece of you?”

There were so many parts I wasn't expecting I went in kind of thinking it would be angsty and Caroline and Oren would be going back and forth, not knowing what they wanted.It wasn't like that, there was s much more to it.And finally Caroline's past all made sense and so did Oren's. There was such a deep sadness in his life, he was constantly battling it all, yet you would have never have known because he was so good at hiding it. You look at him and see this happy go lucky character, the class clown, not someone who has a big part of himself hidden even from his closest friends.

I can not wait to carry on with this series even though I'm not sure who this next character is but Linda Kage is awesome and I'm sure I will love whoever this Knox guy is as well, another author whose books will be ones I need to buy in paperback one day! I would definitely re-read them, well I have already re-read Picks book ;)

My Review

4 Stars!!

I saw this cover and thought ohh is this really a book for me? I have to admit the cover matters to me and I usually go for the more darker mysterious looking ones than the bright ones.I have a friend who always (well, a lot of the times) reads books with bright pink, colourful covers and it reminded me of her! But when I read an excerpt I was eager to start it and see how it went.And as you can see, It went well ;)

“And it’s like my mum always said, be with a man that ruins your lipstick, not your mascara.”

This is the first book I have read by Laura Barnard and she is from England woop! I love it when I find new authors from England I'm all like I know an author that live kinda.. close by *pats back* LOL.
I got stuck into this book and was looking forward to what would happen.There were a lot of things that I didn't expect and then there were others that were predictable such as certain things would come to light..it had to happen yet I was hoping it wouldn't.

Rose at the starting is a selfish brat and I thought I would end up hating her or getting really annoyed (that didn't happen though) , she doesn't know what true friends are and how family will always stick by you and how you should never let go of true love.She doesn't care for anyone's feelings at the start, she just wants what she thinks is best for her.As the novel continues she finds out that there is a lot more to the village and the friendships she has created here are ones that wouldn't use her or leave her. But in the end will she leave them?

“God, he’s hot. He’s making me stupid.”

We meet James before we meet William but as soon as I met William I was like yup that's the one I like! I do like a guy who is open with his emotions but I did feel at times he needed to be a bit closed. Is that weird? Haha I still really liked his character.The winking was odd but funny.And I really wanted James and Elsie to have their own book, I really want to know more about them especially James and the relationship between the brothers.

This book has a bit of everything, it had me laughing at some of the silly things Rose does, rolling my eyes, cringing, wanting to smack some sense into her and parts of this book also made my heart hurt.It's a fun book with a lot of heart.Oh and the fanny fart part was just hilarious!

Synopsis
I don’t know what I was thinking when I hired someone to attack me. Maybe I was bored, or lonely, or there was a void so deep inside of me that I needed something explosive to fill it.
It was supposed to be safe. A thrill. A way to break through the monotony of everyday life. It was an illusion of danger that I could walk away from as soon as it was over.
Except that it wasn’t. Because I had been in danger long before I ever invited it into my life.

My mission is almost complete. The bubbling boil of vengeance that heats my blood might finally simmer.
She is the last piece of the puzzle. Once I destroy her, everyone who ever hurt me will have paid their debt.
It was supposed to be quick and easy, but as soon as I met her it got complicated.
Very complicated.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt
 I spin again to face him, and I hike my dress up just under my ass, while straddling one of his legs. His eyes are affixed on mine, like we are only two people in this crowded club. I ride his thigh, rubbing my bare pussy against him, as I lick my lips and run a hand through my hair.
My chest presses against the firmness of his torso, my nipples stiffening from the contact.
“Please, dance with me,” I beg in a mewl.
His hand threads through my hair, the other grabs my ass and pulls me up and against his thigh, applying more pressure against him.
Brick by brick.
And we move in sync: slow, rhythmic grinding. Eye to eye. Lids barely parted. Sweat beading. Low moans vanish into the air. The deafening music drowns out any conflicted feelings that remain. He tugs my hair and extends my neck, grazing his teeth against my chin, the tip of his tongue awakening the sensitive nerve endings. His hand squeezes my half-exposed ass, and everything lights up. My nipples and clit, a partnership of arousal, tense in ecstasy as they stroke against the man who sets me on fire. He is also the only person who can put me out.
My moans grow louder, but they are drowned out in the safety of the music. And like the flashing lights in the club, I become ablaze with flickering energy, throwing my head back, arching my spine as he supports me, as he lets me use his body, his smell, his taste, his overpowering masculine energy to put out the blaze that he ignites inside of me.
I collapse onto him, grasping his shirt, taking in his smell, the warmth of his broad chest, completely lost in the sensory experience that is Tax. I smile as I burrow my face into his chest, drunk off the mixture of alcohol and lust.
My Review
4.5 Stars!!
This is another fantastic book by Nina G Jones! Debt is a dark, raw gritty standalone which will take you on an emotional roller-coaster which you won't want to get off from.You will be left craving more.I have read every book this author has released and she just keeps getting better, I can't for more from her.
I think this is a book that you need to go in blind instead of knowing the basics of the story.There is so much more to it than you will ever think. I was captivated by the story and hanging on to every little word trying to figure out what would happen next.Would it all fall apart and the mystery of what really happened.How did it get to this?
‘My Dad used to warn me that the devil doesn't have horns and a pitchfork, he’ll appear as the most beautiful thing you've ever seen. He’ll make you laugh. He’ll make you feel good. You’ll do things you never thought you would, but he’ll tell you it’s okay. And before you know it, you’ve sold your soul to him.’
At the beginning I was totally all over the place about Tax, like I wanted to hate him but it was hard because deep down I was rooting for him and Mia. They had an explosive chemistry and it was like Mia was the light, the release he was missing.His character is dark and aggressive yet behind it all is a lot of emotion which I felt in each page.There were a lot of unexpected moments and I'm so glad this was dual POV or else I would have been totally lost and it also has flashbacks to the past which help explain everything. I like where they were positioned in the book because I have read book which take too long to get to the flashbacks or explanations to whats going on and I get frustrated and put off, but Nina did it just right!
“Reckless. Irresponsible. Dirty. Dangerous. Exhilarating. Erotic. Wild. Euphoric. How can one thing be all of those? How can peering into the gutter of my soul feel like I just touched heaven?”
There was so much anger, passion, betrayal, love and so much more. Ohh all these feels. By the end I was emotionally exhausted.The only thing was I wanted more from the ending, I liked it but I needed it to carry on.How about a novella Nina? Pleaaasee?
My Review
4 Brilliant Stars!
Have I mentioned that I flove Belle Aurora? If you haven't read her books you are really missing out..BIG TIME! SO grab any one of her books and get reading. Okay yes, its been a long wait but Bella always makes it worth it.Another awesome book that made me smile so hard and even get a little emotional.
This is book 3 in the 'Friend-Zoned' Series and this one is about Max and Helena. You can read these books as stand-alones but why would you do that when you can start from book 1 and read all the way to this one.You have to read them all they will have you laughing out loud, swooning and falling in love.
We have met Max in the previous books and you see him as the funny, flirty one and a single- father who loves his little girl so much. We don't really see much of his serious side.It's heartbreaking seeing him struggle as a father at times and I wanted to reach into the book and hug him because he truly is an awesome father and he needed someone to strong to be with him, someone loving who could made his house, a home.
Helena is Nat's sister and we briefly meet her in 'Love Thy Neighbour'
I didn't know until later that her and Max would be paired up but I was looking forward to how it would all work out. Helena is just so funny!
I loved this part!!
"Firstly, old man, it's stub your toe.You need English lessons.Secondly, I stubbed it really bad that time.It was hanging by a thread! If I didn't use the Band-Aid when I did, not even plastic surgeon would have been able to save my pinkie toe."
Even Helena's dad was funny! Oh if I wrote down all the scenes I loved I would probably be spoiling the whole book since I did highlight a shit load.I loved all the supporting characters as well as the main ones, they are all so funny, quirky and they all form one big family bound by laughter and love.
Helena moves next door to Nat since she gets a new job close by and this is how Max meets Helena. But Helena isn't interested in him, or so she says.After meeting Max and being rejected on her sisters wedding she wants nothing to do with him.But fate has other plans..plans filled with laughter, love, family and even some tears.
He steps closer to me, his hand cupping my waist. "I want you.I want you more than anyone I've ever wanted in my life."
Can't wait for more in this series ;)
5 I-LOVE-THIS-SERIES Stars
Okay when I heard that The Remedy would be the end of the Devil's Eyes series I was quite upset..quite upset being an understatement.I didn't want the series to finish and I will always want more.ALWAYS! But then Jennifer Loren announced that there would be more to this series and I was like WHAT?! Hell yeah!Oh btw I get this news way before everyone else..not that I'm bragging or anything.Just putting it out there ;) I love being in JL's street team! So whilst I was screaming and doing a happy dance JL was writing away another master piece.This book was awesome, I need more..like yesterday woman!
This book kind of breaks off from Nick and his side of things.He is still in the book but its main focus is Ryan and Elijah.I love how other people's povs are cleverly placed which gave me a better idea of what is going on yet, the povs, they don't overwhelm you.
Ryan has always lived in Nick's shadows, he loves him and looks up to him but he needs to move on and pave his own path. So even though moving away from the family is tough he decides its time to take over a new place and be his own boss.Make his own rules.And to help out he has Elijah and an unexpected bodyguard, Skylar.
"My Lord," She says, bowing to me.
"Oh son of a bitch," I grumble
Skylar is a women out to prove herself.By guarding Ryan she wants to show that women aren't weak and they can handle the tough life. Before she gets to where Ryan is now living she thinks she has it all figured out, she thinks Ryan has been spoiled and rich all his life and he will behave just like all other Savages.But when she gets there she finds out how wrong she is.There is alot more to Skylar we discover as the story continues..
'I can't stop staring at his penis and it begins to make him nervous.
"Baby, are you planning to cut me dick off or something, cause you are making me really nervous staring at it like you are?"
Ryan doesn't need anyone to protect him especially not a hot, annoying woman he can't keep his eyes off.I loved Ryan and Skylar's parts maybe a littllleeeeee bit more than Eli and Catriona's parts.They were hilarious together and well that's Ryan ahh I fell more in love with him! Maybe its because we already had the Eli and Cat thing going on in previous book so this was something new and I just wanted to keep reading their parts.
“Hmm… should I follow alongside or get in with you?” “Follow alongside? Who are you, Usain Bolt? Get in the damn car.” She nods..
Elijah and Catriona have their own problems along with helping Ryan out.Eli is determined to love Catriona and give her everything she wishes for but things aren't that easy. His humour was as always present and I loved that about him.
"Actually, the best part was when we stopped running and Eli asked me to hold his boob while he pulled up his stockings."
Hahaha I loved this part of the book and their funny stories. Could not contain my laughter.
We meet new people, lose some old people, discover new secret, betrayals and twists! I laughed out loud..whilst everyone sleeping I'm sure if everyone was awake they would be like, what a weirdo but they weren't so hah!Highly recommended series sooo go get started on the previous books if you haven't already ;)
Omg the ending!!!! I was like YES YES!!!!!! HELL YEAH.I wanted to scream because I had so much feelings and I wanted to discuss..but my friends haven't even read it yet so i just hi5'd myself and tried keep my emotions in lock. The sad truth. I want more.When can I get more?
Oh and I won a paperback so it shall be hugged and it will sleep with me.There may even be stroking ;)
5 Brilliant, I-Want-More Stars!!
'Why do I believe her to be mine and I hers when she is supposed to be my enemy?'
So it took me a while to get round to this one and wait wait before you all attack me ..It's only because I really, really didn't want this series to finish! But then Jennifer Loren gave me some amazing news when she revealed that there would be more! Yes baby! I was over the moon and thought well now I can read it. This is book 5 in the Devil's Eyes series by Jennifer Loren and what a book is was. JL you never disappoint!
"This fallen angel may be stained, but don't be fooled.I am not broken.I will be the remedy to your poison, Asmodeus."
This book continues from where the last last book finished. You find out that somehow Kayla carries the key to getting Nick back from his grandfathers clutches.Nick has been poisoned and he doesn't remember Kayla or any of his family anymore.He is ready to kill anyone who goes against Dennis not knowing that his grandfather is making him hurt his own family and friends.
One thing I love about this series is that it has it all, entertainment, drama, suspense, action, thrills, humour and so much more. I love each and every character (the good ones obviously).Dennis Savage the things I wanted to do to you..no for all the perverts reading this and thinking its all sexual.NO. I wanted to kill this man in so many different ways.He had my blood boiling, why Dennis are you such a pig?
"I know you can't take your eyes off me.I get it but I have some things I need to take care of.You can undress me with your eyes when I get back later.."- Elijah
We got to see a lot more of Elijah awww I already liked him in from the glimpses we got in the previous books but this one made me love him more.I just wanted to squeeze him! I'm happy he finally found someone and now its Ryan's turn. I'm hoping Ryan finds his happily ever after in the books to come because he truly deserves it. There were a lot of funny parts as well as the serious bits and how everything was going to work out, how to get Nick back and protect the family.
"Oh, be nice, tall unpleasant one.I will look at your breasts next if you want?" I say rubbing his chest.- Elijah
I felt like this book was too short because I just can't get enough of these books and series.One minute I started it and next minute finished..What is this sorcery!! LOL I finished this in one go and stayed up late because I could not put it down.And now I want more soo..hurry with the spin-off woman ;)
3.5-4 Crazy Stars!!
I really wasn't expecting this! I went in thinking the main characters would be older, hot alpha male fighter and boxed off woman and blah blah.Oh how wrong I was, this book flipped everything I expected on its head. What you get is, 2 teenagers who have a shit load to deal with and too many hormones.The swearing, the bullying, the arguing and so on I thought crap I'm going to hate this.Wrong! I actually enjoyed it.
I prefer when the main characters are older but sometimes I come across books like this one and they are enjoyable if you take out the teenage drama.
Bronagh Murphy isn't your typical heroine, she was stubborn as hell, swears a lot, is quite violent and avoids most people.After her parents died she is left with her older sister who becomes her guardian.She is closed of and would love to just disappear, she is scared to have friends/relationships as she doesn't think she could cope with losing another loved one. So yeah she is pretty much a loner and is left alone until the new twins join her class everything begins to change.
At times Bronagh really annoyed me with some of the hurtful shit that came out of her mouth or just immature behaviour, the drama part.But other than that she was quite funny and I liked how she began to adjust and actually live her life rather than just merely survive.
Okay in my head I thought Dominic would be a certain way and well he was nothing like that.He was basically an OTT hormonal alpha male yeah sums him right up! He has a sweet, sensitive side when he opens up to Bronagh, he is funny and can be an idiot at times but yeah I liked him ;)
"I'm yours?" I mumbled, still in awe that this beautiful person wanted me when he could have any girl he wanted.
Dominic smiled at me and kissed the tip of my nose then winked as he said, "You've always been mine, pretty girl. You just didn't know it."
There were times where I wanted to punch him in the face because he was acting like such a prick but hey that happens right? I loved all the brothers and I see how everyone loved Damien and well so did I but I am really excited for Kane's book! GIVE ME KANE!!
