My Review

3 Damaged Stars!

This has been on my kindle for ages now and I have just let it be.I think it was a free for a time on amazon and that's when I got it.Recently I decided to clean up my kindle since I just seem to keep adding more books and leaving behind the rest and without giving them a shot. I mainly started to work through my arc list but this was a random one I wanted to get through. Lying there at the bottom, being all neglected! So that's why I started reading it I hadn't really heard much about it so I thought meh why not?

Staring up at Cooper, I held his gaze and forced a smile. “I like you a lot. I don’t think we make any sense, but I wish we did.”

Farah Smith has had to leave her dad and sister behind and attend college which has always been her dream. Her life hasn't been easy not with what happened to her in the past and its not getting easier especially with the fact that she has to be away from her best friend or only friend and sister and start new with a mother who doesn't want her.

Cooper Johansson is a local bad boy that everyone wants or is afraid of.His family is respected and feared in the community. Cooper and Farah meet in class and they are drawn to each other yet Farah wants nothing to do with a scary looking, tattooed bad boy.

“This date. You’re really giving me a chance, right? I need for you to be open to things and not just playing along because I said I would keep chasing. I need a real chance because you’ve got me all messed up inside.”

I really liked Cooper even though he was an arsehole at times and did some stupid things he really did want more from her. Farah had me so annoyed at times like ahhh *Pulling my hair out* So whiny and awkward at times. It's like womaaaan there is a hot man who wants you. Embrace it haha. Then again I understood later on why she did certain things but still it wasn't enough.I wanted her to get some help and sort her past crap out.

There were some funny moments which I loved and this book had alot of potential.I just wanted Farah to be more uhmm...badass? something like that. Also Bailey? I bloody hated her.She isn't cute little sister kinda girl she is a bitch. So self absorbed as was Skye. Not good friends at all and their advice was stupid pft! I didn't really know what to rate this book 2.5 or 3 so because this book did have parts I truly did enjoy I will stick to 3 stars!

Review: Archer's Voice By Mia Sheridan

Synopsis

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

My Review
5 Unforgettable Stars!

This is the first book I have read by Mia Sheridan and I totally want to smack myself because I have had two other books by her and never got round to reading them. After getting this one recommended a few times I decided enough is enough and this shall be my next read. And how bloody glad I am that I did end up reading it because this is one amazing book!

The characters, the story, the emotions and the beauty of silence. This book made me feel so much and left me craving more.I just really didn't want it to end and I want more so yeah this will definitely be one of the books on my re-read pile and one I need as a paperback. So I can..stroke the pages and hold it.Hey I'm not weird..I know lots of you do the same so don't you be judging me! :D

“We communicated a thousand words, without a single one being spoken."

If you haven't read this book you really need to! Like now! This story will leave you swooning, crying, laughing and best of all falling in love and wishing you could curl up inside this book and never come out. I don't know what to tell you about this book without giving too much away, it's just one of those book that you should go in blind.Don't read lots of reviews and spoilers and what not.Just read the book and experience it without have preconceived ideas about how it will turn out.Just jump in with both feet and let the story unfold and let it take you on a beautiful journey.

"He smiled back and put his lips against mine, mouthing, "I love you, too," against my mouth, as if he was breathing love into my body."

Archer's Voice is about two lonely characters and when their paths meet so does their souls. Both with tragic pasts that they haven't let go of and a will to carry on. Archer Hale made my heart melt! I can't put into words how he made me feel because there were just too many emotions. I loved Bree and Archer together and how they strengthened each other but also as individuals.

The majority of this book is written in Bree's POV but we also get flashbacks of Archer's past and a little bit from his POV. This is a standalone and even though it is a part of a series it can be read separately as the books are based on different characters.

"I want to be able to love you more than I fear losing you, and I don't know how. Teach me, Bree. Please teach me. Don't let me destroy this." He looked at me beseechingly, pain etched into every feature of his face.

Oh God, Archer, I thought, my heart squeezing tightly in my chest. How do you teach a man who has lost everything, not to fear it happening again?

I would highly recommend this book! And Mia Sheridan I will be reading EVERY book you write ;) A book that shows you how you don't need words to describe your feeling, you don't need a voice to express your love..Sometimes the silence speaks louder than words. You don't need a voice to create change, you need determination, will and a whole lot of love.

Blog Tour/Excerpt/Review/Giveaway: For Fallon (Chicago Syndicate #1) by Soraya Naomi

Blurb

We all have a façade, a concealed mask we wear to portray ourselves to the world.

Fallon’s mask is real, what you see is what you get. Growing up with two loving parents in Chicago, graduating in Chicago, and now working a job she loves, she enjoys her life.

Her untarnished world is shaken when Luca crosses her path.

Luca’s mask is tightly controlled. Distrust, rivalry, and violence rule his life.

When confronted with insecurities, when the one you love wears his mask perfectly, when your life unravels and you don’t know why, do you keep trusting the person you love?

Everyone has a façade. Everyone has an ulterior motive.

Excerpt

His gaze is piercing through me. He tilts his head and arcs one brow in silent question, Need any help?
I almost imperceptibly nod my head.
Mystery man speaks to his company, who’s leaning with his back against the bar. The other guy whips his head around to look at me and is obviously not agreeing with his friend’s intention to intervene. He disregards his friend’s comment and comes over to Nick and me. He walks right up to us to place a secure arm around my waist, tucking me gently into his side and turning slightly, so I’m engulfed in his one arm embrace. His breath strokes over my temple while he speaks. “I’m taking her for a dance.” His deep, throaty voice which exudes sensuality fits him perfectly in his tailored suit. The guy glowers at Nick, daring Nick to defy him. His intimidating stance has Nick backing off instantly, and he leads us both away with his arm firmly holding my middle.
I don’t even look back at Nick. My eyes are glued to this man. My mouth quirks up in a smile as he shows me an enthralling sidelong grin.

When I’m about to ask his name, he halts. “You’re welcome,” he whispers the words against my ear. And again, he strolls away.

 My Review
3.5- 4 Deceptive Stars!

For Fallon is book 1 in the Chicago Syndicate series and Soraya Naomi's debut novel. After reading and loving Soraya's reviews I was surprised and excited when she announced that she would be releasing a book.I loved the way she wrote her reviews and was anxious to read what she would write.I love mafia romances and have read a lot and I'm always looking for something new and I really enjoy great twists in the story and a book that makes me wasn't to keep reading and never stop. If you enjoy love stories that arent all lovey dovey, which have a mix of deception, lies, murder, twists and much more this is a book for you.

“Love must not suffocate, but breathe on its own.”

Fallon lives with her best friend and works for a charity as a copyeditor.Oh and the best part..She loves to read and tea! Helloo my fav things book and tea!! Anyways back to the story..Fallon and Luca meet at a club.Fallon can't take her eyes off of him and it seems like it's the same for Luca.Or is it?

After their first meeting they seem to keep bumping into each other and so begins the start of their steady relationship. Its a slow buildup and you get to know the characters and how the relationship develops. It was a little slow for me and took me a while to read it.The second half of the book picks up and I found it a lot better and I kept turning pages and couldn't stop reading until I hit the end. Thanks Soraya! That cliffhanger though :O I did not expect that ending and now I want more!

I love dual POVs when they are done right and this was so done right! I liked that we had both the POVs as it helped explain alot of things. Second half or parts of the second half Fallon annoyed me. I know that in that situation you aren't thinking rationally and you do stupid stuff and that she didn't know what was going on in Luca's head so she couldn't know what I knew but omg she should have known. This is not making sense or maybe it is?

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series and any other books Soraya writes ;)

Excerpt:

“I’m sorry,” Shadus’ voice says.

My eyes slide over – Shadus is standing right next to me, leaning on the bookshelf. I close my eyes and sigh.

“Don’t be. It’s me. Something’s wrong with me. I don’t know how to react like a normal person. Jeers, whispers, sneers, those are fine. I ignore them, punch something to make them hurt less. Compliments? I don’t know what to do with those.”

“You’re different. That’s not necessarily bad,” He offers. His long fingers skim over a row of books and he picks one out, flipping through the pages. “More literature in which the protagonist kisses his interest. Is it all your human writers are interested in? It hardly seems worthy enough to devote entire books to.”

“It’s not so bad,” I defend. “Kissing.”

“You speak from experience?” He asks.

“Second grade during the school play. Arnold Grady. We were backstage, behind the curtain. I thought it was a good time to go for it.”

“It was enjoyable, then?”

“Too wet.” I laugh, the memory burning like an old tattoo of embarrassment. “He was shorter than me - all the boys were. They’ve only started catching up this year, really.”

“I’m jealous.”

I raise an eyebrow. “What? Of the short boys?”

“Of your kiss. You speak of it fondly. Even if it was lacking technique, you still remember it. It must have been an important experience. I assume I will never know that sort of feeling - ”

I step into him. He jolts back, hitting the bookshelf. It shakes, and settles. I point up at him.

“Be thankful. You guys have the ceremony of flame. You don’t waste time with petty shit and he-likes-her-she-likes-him crap. Your future is arranged by your family. But us? Humans? We fish around blindly in a pool of seven billion people, hoping one of them isn’t too crazy or too incompatible with us, and we get so desperate that when we find someone we can stand for two minutes we decide to marry them for life, when in reality they’re all wrong for us. But we keep pretending they’re right, until we can’t anymore, and then we divorce them or break up and we get up and try again, and again, and it chips away at our tiny human hearts.”

He stares at me intently, as if I’m lecturing him and he’s trying his hardest to learn something from it. I snort.

“You’re lucky, Creeps. All you Gutters are lucky.”

“What you call ‘lucky’, I call ‘boring’,” Shadus says. “The human way of things may be more painful, but it sounds much more fun.”

I stride up to him, get in his face. His chest is rising and falling, his fists balled up. His ruby eyes stare down at me.

“Don’t do it,” He murmurs.

“Do what?”  I singsong.

He struggles with something inside himself, a pained look coming over his expression.

“Victoria -”

I press my head into the cradle where his neck meets his shoulder.

My Review

4.5 I-love-Aliens Stars!!

Okay I have read a few alien books and loved them so I totally went in ready for this one.I absolutely loved the lovely vicious series by Sara Wolf (Book 3 I am waiting for you!) and I will be reading everything this awesome woman writes. I was captivated by just the synopsis and was super excited when I got an arc.

'But they’re more than just mates. They’re extra limbs, extensions of each other and at the same time, mirror reflections. Two faces of one coin and all that. Even when they’re far away, they’re always with each other. That is how deep their bond is.'

Aliens aka Gutters have landed on earth. They have been living here for 11 years now and the government have now decided to create a school where Gutters and Humans can live and take the same classes. You are each set up with a partner who will be your mentor of sorts. This school is set up help gutters and humans with understanding that they should live together in peace and not violence. To give humans a better understanding of Gutters and vice versa. There is also the part where those who sign up become an EVE(Emotion Vesicle Engraft) these are people- and one of few humans who are genetically capable of producing emotions for the Gutters to feed on.Those who volunteer get a largo sum of money and thats the only reason Vic is there.

Victoria Hale aka Vic has just signed up to become and EVE. She doesn't care for the Gutters, not even a little bit.She is here for the money and not to make friends. After her mother was killed during a protest against Gutters she hates them, she blames them. All she needs to do is go to school and live with them peacefully to make sure she gets the money she needs. Simple right?

Wrong!

She is partnered up with Shadus. He is just a ray of sunshine! LOL

Brown eyes. I do a double take.

They aren’t quite brown, more like rust. The irises streak with red, like the color of blood. They belong to a male Gutter. His eyes are shadowed by thick lashes and long bangs, his hair unkempt and messy. He’s slouched, elbows on the table behind him. His body is lean, like he doesn’t eat properly. His cheekbones are razor sharp and his shoulders are broad, his expression completely bored on his olive skin.

Oh Shadus.I love you! I need an alien.Anyone out there? Get in contact asap ;)

I loved Shadus and Vic's banter, they were hilarious! I really wanted more scenes with just them too, I NEED more Shadus and Vic scenes! Both of them are stubborn and feel something for the another they just don't want to accept it, oh there were funny awkward moments and then everything got crazy.

“It sounds like Creeps. Crepes. Creeps,” He tries experimentally.

There’s a silence.

“That was my attempt at human humor.”

That ending! Sara Wolf why you gotto torture me like that? why! Every book of yours I read you have to kill me with the cliffhanger endings.I can't wait much longer woman! :P Can't wait to find out what will happen next and how Shadus and Vic's relationship develops..please please be more Shadus and Vic scenes! The writing had me hooked from the start and I didn't want this book to end.

Review: Addicted (Ethan Frost, #2) By Tracy Wolff

Book 1- Ruined (Ethan Frost#1) ---> My Review

Synopsis
Ethan Frost returns in the breathtaking conclusion to New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Tracy Wolff’s seductive novel Ruined—perfect for fans of Release Me and Bared to You.

As Chloe Girard discovers, there’s love . . . and then there’s addiction.

Ethan Frost is everything a woman could want in a man. He’s rich, gorgeous, powerful, one of the most eligible bachelors in the world.

But that’s not why I’m with him.

I love Ethan for all the things no one else gets to see: his innate kindness, his reckless spontaneity, his unwavering determination to use his brilliance for good. I love the way he looks at me, the way he touches me. The way he makes me forget the wreckage of my past and the twisted fear that still lives inside me.

But sometimes it terrifies me how much I crave him, how much I need him just to breathe. I always thought it would be my past that ruined us, but there’s a darkness in Ethan I never dreamed existed. Can we survive as his secrets surface—threatening to unravel us both?

My Review

2.5-3 Stars!!

'Ethan Frost loves me the same way I love him.Wildly,completely,absolutely.'

*Sigh* I really wanted to love this book. I really did. After the cliffhanger from book 1 and i really did enjoy Ruined as a whole I was expecting a lot more from this book.I feel like it's not finished, that there is still more to come.I was hoping to see how the characters coped, more development and to see how it would all work out.

'He tastes like the ocean and feels like it too.Powerful, violent, infinite.I want to immerse myself in him, to drown in him.And I want this kiss-this feeling- to go on forever.'

Everything was going well for Ethan and Chloe and for the first time Chloe felt safe enough to open up about her past.Ethan has always made her feel safe and protected but what happens when the truth shatters her? What happens when the man she thinks can save her is the brother of the man who destroyed her?

A lot of things were left half way. What happened to Brandon, that issue is not really solved and if it is I didn't find closure I needed, I wanted to know exactly what happened to him.I wanted to know that he wouldn't hurt anyone again because of so and so..he being run over by a car..possibly? Anything! I wanted him punished.

'Ethan Frost is my addiction. He's the itch just below my skin. The fire that skates along my every nerve ending. He is the craving I just can't shake.'

Ethan tries to protect the woman he is in love by not telling her what he knows. It's like every time he thinks he is doing something right it ends up being a cause of another fallout. He finds out that you can't protect a person when you hide the truth and take it upon yourself to sort out.I loved Ethan, loved him in book 1 and still love him in book 2! I feel sorry for him its like everything he did seemed to come back to bite him.All he wanted was to protect Chloe and all it did was hurt her.I felt that Chloe was harsh to him, you don't choose your family and even though I understand her situation I wanted to scream at her that its not Ethan's fault! Give the man a break!

It was constant pattern of there being a problem which leads to Chloe running away, Chloe's boring mind and then making up and back to the start. Vicious cycle.I hated being in Chloe's head her inner dialogue was just too slow and boring for me.It was the same thing over and over again I felt so frustrated with her.I think if this was in dual POV it would have balanced it out and maybe I wouldn't have been so annoyed at Chloe.I'd loved to have gotten more of an insight to Ethan's side and how he was coping and so on.

My Review

4.5 BRILLIANT, CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE STARS!!

This is book 2 of the brilliant The Secret Life Of Amy Benson series and it continues from where book 1 ended.

What do you do when you don't know who to trust?
When your life is in danger?
When there are so many secrets and no answers?
Where do you run?
Where do you hide?

After the ending of Escaping Reality my emotions were all over the place I was dying to get my hands on this book and find out what is going on.And well..Lisa Renee Jones did not disappoint!
There were so many secrets and we never got any answers in book one so I really hoped this one would give us more insight to what really happened to Amy's family and basically wtf is going on.

Let me say that Escaping Reality made me bloody paranoid, I was all jumpy and everyone became a damn suspect, I was all over the place..So when reading this one I admit I may have gone slightly mental, no joke I was like screaming (in my head obviously, don't want people to think I have lost the plot) AMY DON'T TRUST ANYONE! Other than Liam. In my heart I just hoped knew Liam can't be the bad guy..He can't okay? It felt like it was going back and forth with the whole, Is Liam bad or good? But yeah because I rock I was like no Liam can't be bad, if he is well, shits gna go down!!
You find out that there is so much more to this stories and many more secrets yet to be revealed.

I was on edge all the way through, just when I was like phew finally some peace and then BOOM! another problem/dangerous situation and again with being paranoid all over again. This fast-paced book filled with suspense, twists and turn will keep you captured right until it ends. Even after it ends you are like damnn when is the next book being released? I hope it's tomorrow *Sigh*

~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~
My Review
4 Totally Different,Hot, Bad-ass, Action packed Stars!!

Okay so when I read this synopsis I was so excited, it sounds so good.I loved Margaret McHeyzer books (HiT series) and I was intrigued to see how this book would turn out.I have to say if you are wanting to read about a whiny, weak, sweet female main character yeah this book isn't for you because Margaret just doesn't roll that way ;) If you are looking for a bad-ass, independent, sometimes bitchy character who doesn't whine all the time and stands up for herself then my friends this is the book for you!

Frankie DeLuca isn't your average women, whilst she may look all beautiful and delicate there is a lot more to her than meets the eye.At the beginning you see her character as cold, bitchy and in control. Its what you have to be when you are a Mob Boss.In a world of crime, power and money you have to toughen up and there is no time for normal things, normal can get you killed because when you look at it being a Mob Boss isn't a normal job. After her father died she had to take over and now this is her life.

"..I'm not good, I'll never be good.I give orders that would give you nightmares.I can destroy anyone with a simple look.Do you understand that?.."

Jeremy Miller is a Senator. After his father dies he decided to follow his footsteps and now he wants to rid the area of crimes taking place. He wants to stamp out organised crime and can’t be bought off.Little does he know his life will be flipped and lines between good and bad will become blurred. It all happens when Frankie knocks right into Jeremy. They have a connection, chemistry and much more.
What will happen when Jeremy finds out that the connections between DeLuca's and Miller's runs deep.

How can one man look so perfect and be so gorgeous yet be a pain in my fucking arse. Jeremy Miller's a Senator.

Can a mob Boss and Senator be in a relationship? Will the past connections bring them together or rip them apart? With dangers all around how long will it all last?

At first I felt like oohh I don't really know about this, I love an alpha male so when I read this and its like Frankie is running the show I felt out of my comfort zone. I had to question the fact that why is it okay when its the guy but when its a women being like uhm Alpha female? ( weird right?) it made me feel slightly uncomfortable.Well at first I felt like Jeremy was being a bit of a pussy then later on he kind of takes back the control its more balanced. I liked that it was different , I liked watching their relationship change throughout. How Frankie gives up her control. She has always had to take control because that who she is, that's how she was raised and being a Mob Boss you have full rein to give it up feels like a weakness. Giving it up for Jeremy is different..

"I need you and I want you.My life for yours, Frankie."

This book is a stand-alone and is in Frankie's POV. I would have liked some parts to be in Jeremy's POV I wanted to know more about him and how he felt throughout this book.
Okay now the epilogue oh my.. I did not expect that at all!! Like why? My heart hurt! But yeah I got over it it's a lie I am dying here!
