Review: Worth It (Forbidden Men, #6) by Linda Kage

Synopsis

I fell in love once.

It was amazing. She was amazing. Life was amazing.

I lived for each time I could see her, and nothing else mattered, not that our families were enemies, our time together was forbidden, or we had to meet in secret.

Our love could conquer all.

Until it didn't.

So I was ripped away from the love of my life and shoved into hell, forced to continue without her.

It shattered me, broke the best parts of me, left me permanently damaged.

Or so I thought.

Years later, I swear history’s trying to repeat itself because she’s back in my life, and I’m just as drawn to her as I was before. But I'm older and wiser now, and I know she should stay away from a worthless ex-con like me.

So, I will not let her in. I absolutely refuse to hurt her. I will keep her away.

Then again, sometimes risking your greatest fear to get to a smile makes everything worth it, and besides, I’m not sure I can resist her, anyway.

This is the story of how Felicity Bainbridge changed my life forever, starting one summer day long ago after I was forced to change a dirty diaper...

My Review
4 Stars!!

“No matter what happens tonight, don’t ever change, okay? You are fun and sweet and amazing just the way you are. You make the world a better place because you always find the bright side. You are the bright side. And if I’m ever going to make it through this, I need to know you’re out there, still glowing and making the world bright.”

Linda Kage, woman you really know how to write an awesome book that keeps me intrigued from start to finish. And that little part at the end about Asher? What the hell are you trying to do to me? I need the next book right now!! I hate waiting omg you are going to kill me.There is no slow boring parts, every part flows and makes you want more. I didn't want it to end and yet I couldn't stop reading.

When I found out at the end of Ten's book that the next book was about some new person called Knox I was a bit like eh? Who? Why do we need a new addition I love the forbidden crew. I felt like he may not fit in or that it wouldn't be as good as the rest but oh how wrong I was. He fit right in as well as Felicity.

'She wasn’t like anyone I’d ever met… She didn’t treat me like a nobody. In fact, I don’t think anyone had ever treated me the way Felicity treated me, or looked at me the way she looked at me. Like I was something special. Like I was someone.'

I don't usually like a book that goes back and forth from past to present but again LK knows how to do it because it so worked here.I loved how cute and adorable the past was, watching the the sweet relationship bloom when Felicity and Knox are kids and then having the rough, edgy matured version of them in the present. At times I got so stuck into one section either past or present and I just wanted it to carry on yet it all made sense in the end.Every piece is slowly unraveled, the only thing I wanted more on was more aspects of Knox's life in jail or a little flashback to a time in prison. Or him gradually getting better after the trauma he faced. I also wanted more of Knox with Pick's babies because why not!

My heart broke for Knox, everything he lost. And Bentley aww damn I did not expect that and everything else that happened. It was like one blow after another, there is only so much a person can take before they start to crack.
Both Felicity and Knox had families who didn't really care about them. Felicity was usually left to do whatever unless she was needed. Knox lived in a big family with not enough money and had to make ends meet as well with a drunk father and a mother that was hardly present. One rich, one poor, both families lacking love. Two kids who don't belong finding each other in the woods. A chance meeting that changes everything.

“We’ve never really been apart. From the moment you bumped into me in those woods, we’ve belonged to each other … I don’t care if we’ve grown up. We’re still Knox and City at the core, and we’ll always love each other. You know why?” I leaned in to whisper … “Because we don’t know how to stop.”

Review: A Perfect Ten (Forbidden Men, #5) by Linda Kage

Synopsis

Let your hair down, Caroline, they said. It'll be fun, they said.

I know I've closed myself off in a major way over the past year, ever since “the incident” where I messed up my life completely. It's past time I try to live again or just give up altogether. But this is quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever done. In a last ditch effort to invigorate myself, I'm standing outside Oren Tenning's bedroom, I just peeled off the sexiest pair of underwear I own, and my hand is already raised to knock. My brother would disown me for doing anything with his best friend, and he'd probably kill Oren. But if I play my cards right, no one will ever know about this. Not even Ten.

Maybe after tonight, I’ll finally get over this stupid, irrational crush I hate having on the biggest jerk I’ve ever met. Or maybe I’ll just end up falling for him even harder. Maybe I’ll discover there’s so much more to my crude, carefree hunk than meets the eye

My Review

5 Perfect Stars!!

"You're seriously breaking all my rules. You know that right?"
Her smile just grew.
"I'm beginning to get a clue"

Linda Kage continues to blow me away.As soon as I start any book of hers I just can't stop until I have finished it.So yeah all yesterday I was sneaking around trying to get a little extra reading in because I needed more, I just couldn't put it down and then wait this is the worst part..it ended! How fukin dare it end when I'm not done with it yet? I wanted it to carry on for at least 300 pages more or forever..that works too.

I was already a Caroline fan since I met her in Quinn's book, I'm not sure if she is in any other book I started the series from Be my hero and need to read the previous two books. And Ten was always a joker, at times rude and annoying but I always knew there would be more to him. LK made me fall in love with Oren so hard and gave this book a bit of everything. At times I was laughing out loud and the next on the verge of tears. Caroline was funny and obviously Oren was bloody hilarious, at times he said inappropriate things and still made them sound sweet and adorable!

“What the fuck have you done to me Caroline? … Why couldn’t I stay away from you? … Why can’t I get enough of you? … What do I want to own every fucking piece of you?”

There were so many parts I wasn't expecting I went in kind of thinking it would be angsty and Caroline and Oren would be going back and forth, not knowing what they wanted. It wasn't like that, there was s much more to it.And finally Caroline's past all made sense and so did Oren's. There was such a deep sadness in his life, he was constantly battling it all, yet you would have never have known because he was so good at hiding it. You look at him and see this happy go lucky character, the class clown, not someone who has a big part of himself hidden even from his closest friends.

I can not wait to carry on with this series even though I'm not sure who this next character is but Linda Kage is awesome and I'm sure I will love whoever this Knox guy is as well, another author whose books will be ones I need to buy in paperback one day! I would definitely re-read them, well I have already re-read Picks book ;)

Release Day/Excerpt/ Giveaway: With Every Heartbeat (Forbidden Men #4) by Linda Kage

With Every Heartbeat Synopsis:

*New Adult Romance*
**Explicit Scenes and Language**

I used to think everything was black and white, truth or lie, easy or hard, that if I could just escape my strict, overbearing, abusive father, my life would be perfect. But since I’ve found a reason to risk his wrath and leave, to help a friend in need, I’ve come to realize everything I thought I knew is wrong.

Friends have their own agenda, honesty comes with a dosage of lie, easy doesn’t ev

en exist, keeping secrets sucks, and love...love is the most painful thing of all.

Maybe if Quinn Hamilton hadn’t asked me to skip classes for the day and help him pick out an engagement ring for my best friend, I wouldn’t have fallen for him so completely on that sunny afternoon and I wouldn’t feel so conflicted. But I did, and I can’t take it back, no matter how hard I try. So I have to deal with the fact that even I’m not as good, or honest, or caring as I’d always thought I was, and no matter what I do next, someone’s going to get hurt. Probably me.

Excerpt

As I swept inside the front doors of the library, I started grinning. Even the possibility of getting to see him had my blood pounding with excitement. I didn’t have to search; I went straight to our spot. But as I turned down the aisle of books that led there, I slowed to a stop. He wasn’t there.
My shoulders slumped. But then a breath later, two arms slid around my waist, making me squeak in surprise. I was pulled back against a hard chest I’d recognize anywhere.
“You came.” His voice was filled with wonder before he spun me around.
His smile created a buzz that echoed through my entire body. I grinned back and touched his dimple; my lips hurt from stretching them so far. His own smile widened. And then he was pulling me up to his level and kissing me.
“God, Zoey. I can’t resist you in a pair of jeans or even shorts. But a skirt—” He shook his head even as his palms caught my bare thighs and smoothed their way up the outsides, right under my skirt. “You want to kill me, don’t you?”

My Review

5 I-Love-Pick Stars!

So I started this book without having read the previous books in this series because after reading the synopsis and about Pick I just had to jump in. Be my hero is book 3 in Forbidden Men series by Linda Kage. I loved this book but more that the book I bloody loved Patrick ‘Pick’ Ryan who is now my new book boyfriend. Oh my! He is just perfect, everything he does for others even with the crappy childhood he had the hope for a better future and with that dream him into an amazing man. He is just so protective and loving..the list of his good qualities is endless. SO..big question is Linda Kage..where do I find Pick? Please tell me..I swear I will take good care of him ;)

Pick is an orphan being moved from foster house to foster house, nothing is going right for him and he has had to witness some heartbreaking things and its at that point where if things carry on as they are he will start to harden himself try build up walls and stop letting people in and ultimately lose all hope. He is shown a glimpse into a future he can have, it shows all his dreams coming true if he carries that hope.He wants everything that is shown to him with such longing he can't get it out of his head and he works towards being a better person so when he meets his woman Tinker Bell as he calls her, in the future he can be worthy of her.

..I gave you a glimpse."
"You gave me a what? What the hell is a glimpse? What does it mean?"
"Mean?” She cocked her head as if confused by the question. "Maybe nothing. Maybe everything. It shows you what your life would look like if you lived it to your heart’s content."

When I read the start I was a bit like...uhmm what the hell the whole story is spoiled now because we already know what will happen but Oh was I wrong! It wasn't anything like I thought it would be and thoroughly enjoyed it.

"How the hell did you know this was our song?"
"Our song?"
"Hell, yes, our song. We're going to dance together to this at our wedding reception."

Eva Mercer has been suffering for a long time and no matter how perfect her life may look on the outside its anything but. She is still a child yet her innocence has been lost. She needs a hero..someone to take her away and save her.

10 years pass and we visit Pick and Eva's life in the present.Eva is 19yrs old and pregnant living with her cousin.Pick hasn't found his Tinker Bell and is thinking that it may all have been a dream, a lie. But then he meets Eva wearing a Tinker Bell nightshirt and things get crazy! Pick's life already has a lot of chaos and then the fact that Eva is pregnant ahhh! You have got to read it but in the end it all works out. After a lot of struggle there is so much peace.

What a beautiful journey filled with heartbreak, giggles, babies and so much love. Swoon worthy Pick.. and well..do you really need more? Yeah didn't think so ;)
Highly recommended and I don't know what I am going to do.Read the series in reverse? I haven't decided yet but I'd recommend reading in order to others lol
Oh and I can't wait for Quinn's book!
