Review: Anna and the French Kiss (Anna and the French Kiss, #1) by Stephanie Perkins

Synopsis

Can Anna find love in the City of Light?

Anna is happy in Atlanta. She has a loyal best friend and a crush on her coworker at the movie theater, who is just starting to return her affection. So she's less than thrilled when her father decides to send her to a boarding school in Paris for her senior year.

But despite not speaking a word of French, Anna meets some cool new people, including the handsome Étienne St. Clair, who quickly becomes her best friend. Unfortunately, he's taken —and Anna might be, too. Will a year of romantic near misses end with the French kiss she's waiting for?

My Review
4.5 Sweet Stars!!

“For the two of us, home isn't a place. It is a person. And we are finally home.”

Aww this was just such a cute, sweet book but that wasn't all it was, there was so much more to it.The cover being all pink and bright and you go into thinking oh it is going to be light and fluffy but it has topics that a lot of people can relate to.I don't really read young adult anymore because I always feel like the characters or topics won't be relate-able anymore or too childish for my liking. But I was wrong, so wrong because I started this book and couldn't stop it was this well written book which captured all these emotions, frustrations and the desperateness of first love. It was about belonging somewhere out of your comfort zone and finding home in an unexpected place.

“The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you.”

Anna and St.Clair relationship developed slowly and I adored their friendship and how cute they were. There were a few times St.Clair annoyed me and I wanted to shake him and tell him to either risk it all or not give out dumb hints.I understood to an extent what he was doing and why he didn't want to risk it all but it was just a step that needed to be taken. The characters were all likeable, well St.Clair's girlfriend was meh, annoying.

The whole story had such an innocent, light-hearted vibe to it and I can't wait to carry on with the series. This may be my first book I have read by Stephanie Perkins but it definitely won't be my last. I love my paperback and need the rest of the books in the series, the colours would look so pretty on my shelf, the pink one is getting lonely. Oh and I apologise to every person who recommended this book and I put it off, shame on me! :D

"If you ask me to kiss you, I will," he says.

His fingers stroke the inside of my wrists, and I burst into flames.
"Kiss me," I say.
He does.

Cover Reveal: The Play By Karina Halle

Synopsis:
A troubled Scottish rugby player who doesn't play by the rules.
A vivacious man-eater who's given up on love.
When it comes to Lachlan and Kayla, opposites don't just attract - they explode.

Kayla Moore has always been comfortable with her feisty, maneating reputation. At least it was fine until she hit her thirties and saw her best friends Stephanie and Nicola settle down with Linden and Bram McGregor, leaving Kayla to be the odd one out. Tired of being the third wheel with nothing but one-night stands and dead-end dates in San Francisco, Kayla decides to take a vow of celibacy and put men on the backburner.

That is until she lays her eyes on Linden and Bram’s cousin, hot Scot Lachlan McGregor. Lachlan is her sexual fantasy come to life – tall, tatted, and built like a Mack truck. With a steely gaze and successful rugby career back in Edinburgh, he’s the kind of man that makes her want to throw her vow right out the window. But Lachlan’s quiet and intense demeanor makes him a hard man to get to know, let alone get close to.

It isn’t until the two of them are thrown together one long, unforgettable night that Kayla realizes there is so much more to this brooding macho man than what meets the eye. But even with sparks flying between the two, Lachlan can’t stay in America forever. Now, Kayla has to decide whether to uproot her whole life and chance it all on someone she barely knows or risk getting burned once again.
Sometimes love is a game that just needs to be played.

Review: A Perfect Ten (Forbidden Men, #5) by Linda Kage

Synopsis

Let your hair down, Caroline, they said. It'll be fun, they said.

I know I've closed myself off in a major way over the past year, ever since “the incident” where I messed up my life completely. It's past time I try to live again or just give up altogether. But this is quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever done. In a last ditch effort to invigorate myself, I'm standing outside Oren Tenning's bedroom, I just peeled off the sexiest pair of underwear I own, and my hand is already raised to knock. My brother would disown me for doing anything with his best friend, and he'd probably kill Oren. But if I play my cards right, no one will ever know about this. Not even Ten.

Maybe after tonight, I’ll finally get over this stupid, irrational crush I hate having on the biggest jerk I’ve ever met. Or maybe I’ll just end up falling for him even harder. Maybe I’ll discover there’s so much more to my crude, carefree hunk than meets the eye

My Review

5 Perfect Stars!!

"You're seriously breaking all my rules. You know that right?"
Her smile just grew.
"I'm beginning to get a clue"

Linda Kage continues to blow me away.As soon as I start any book of hers I just can't stop until I have finished it.So yeah all yesterday I was sneaking around trying to get a little extra reading in because I needed more, I just couldn't put it down and then wait this is the worst part..it ended! How fukin dare it end when I'm not done with it yet? I wanted it to carry on for at least 300 pages more or forever..that works too.

I was already a Caroline fan since I met her in Quinn's book, I'm not sure if she is in any other book I started the series from Be my hero and need to read the previous two books. And Ten was always a joker, at times rude and annoying but I always knew there would be more to him. LK made me fall in love with Oren so hard and gave this book a bit of everything. At times I was laughing out loud and the next on the verge of tears. Caroline was funny and obviously Oren was bloody hilarious, at times he said inappropriate things and still made them sound sweet and adorable!

“What the fuck have you done to me Caroline? … Why couldn’t I stay away from you? … Why can’t I get enough of you? … What do I want to own every fucking piece of you?”

There were so many parts I wasn't expecting I went in kind of thinking it would be angsty and Caroline and Oren would be going back and forth, not knowing what they wanted. It wasn't like that, there was s much more to it.And finally Caroline's past all made sense and so did Oren's. There was such a deep sadness in his life, he was constantly battling it all, yet you would have never have known because he was so good at hiding it. You look at him and see this happy go lucky character, the class clown, not someone who has a big part of himself hidden even from his closest friends.

I can not wait to carry on with this series even though I'm not sure who this next character is but Linda Kage is awesome and I'm sure I will love whoever this Knox guy is as well, another author whose books will be ones I need to buy in paperback one day! I would definitely re-read them, well I have already re-read Picks book ;)

Blog Tour: Broken Road By Addison Kline

TITLE : BROKEN ROAD
AUTHOR : ADDISON KLINE
GENRE: ROMANTIC SUSPENSE

It is often said that time heals all wounds. The words are spoken like a promise... A vow. These words are said to people who have been beaten down to their lowest state. To the poor souls who have nothing left to lose. Whispered into the ear of a grieving daughter, told with a shrug to a man who has nothing left to live for.

These are dangerous people.

The down-trodden. The grieving. The ones who love more people dead than alive.

The words should never be uttered. Not to the ones who have no solid ground on which to stand upon, no rail in which to clasp. The white-knuckled moments of life have come to be expected rather than feared.

"Time heals all wounds."

The words are an insult. A slap in the face... and around here, they'll get you hurt. For Averi McClain and her husband Colt, there were few deeper insults.

In the wake of Black Horse's death, a war has erupted. The Seventy Devils are scattered and on alert, gnawing at the bit for the go-ahead to strike. They would not hesitate to spill the blood of anyone who stood in their way of recompense. They knew they would need to act fast if they wanted to come out on top. Colt was not the kind of guy that you slept on. He'd stop at nothing to protect his family and he was lethal whether he was heavily armed or going toe to toe, bare knuckled beat-down style. Colt did have Black Horse's blood coursing through his veins, after all. But then, so did Jimmy, and he is ready to show everyone that the apple didn't fall far from the tree... in fact, they appear to have formed on the same poisoned branch.

As leader of the Devils, Jimmy had seventy miscreants to do his bidding - and three goals in which he needed to achieve:

1. Avenge Black Horse
2. Kill Colt McClain and Randy Ford
3. Take Averi for his own

Jimmy has another thing coming if he thinks victory is easily won. Will Colt and Averi's broken road end in tragedy? Or will they be the ones to banish the devils straight to hell? When the demons of the past rise up, can Colt and Randy face them fearless and determined? Whatever happens, don't expect Colt and Randy to stand alone. Buckle up. The broken road makes for one hell of a ride.

My Review

4 Stars!!

Sometimes you just need a good historical romance to curl up to and I have been meaning to read more Lorraine Heath books since I read one series which left me needing more. Her writing makes you want to carry on and you don't want to put the book down.

"You are in league with the devil, my lady.May you rest easier at night than I"

An entertaining sweet book with humour, romance, friendship and much more.I adored the main characters Lucian and Catherine. Even though in some parts I really wanted to shake Lucian and tell him to wake up.He jut longed for belonging and acceptance, he has always been quite lost and not being to place himself or regain memory of anytime before he was on the streets. Catherine was great, I liked how she was't this shy submissive or someone who was scared easily. She was refreshing and I liked how she fit right in with Lucian's friends even though her upbringing was so different to theirs.

I'm intrigued to find out how the rest of the friends turn out, what will their story be like and who they will end up with. I have to say I have mixed feelings about Jack, I liked his at the start and now I don't know how I feel. I feel like I will end up enjoying his book though. There is so much we don't know about him, he is all mystery, all we know is that he has a lot of walls up and he must have seen a lot of bad things as a child.

Frannie..hmm I'm not exactly a fan?I just feel like I won't enjoy her story or that I'm not too interested.Maybe because of how she seemed so weak and not assertive enough. I didn't really get her, she just didn't seem interesting enough. Oh well, we shall see, maybe she will change my mind.

I enjoyed the twists and turns in this book and how each character had a mystery element to them. You just need to know more about them and to do so you will have to continue on this series.
Hopefully I will get round to Jack's book soon but I need a change of genre, I like to keep switching it up ;)

My Review
5 STARS!!

After reading The dark light of day I added T.M.Frazier on my list of authors I needed to stalk and read every book they write. When the first book they write turns out to be frikin amaaazing you feel like what if the next book doesn't live up to your expectations because the bars been set pretty high right now. Well let me tell you Mrs Frazier just keeps upping her game.

Every book she has written has you up at night reading like you don't have to wake up the next day. There are never regrets the next day when you are walking around like a zombie answering questions with random words that make no sense since your mind is still stuck in the book you read the night before. Oh add in the cliffhanger that has you trying to figure out what will happen next and then staring at your calendar hoping days would go faster since release date seems too far away. And who the hell can wait so long. So yeah you are slowly dying day by day. Thanks T.M.Frazier!

"If you fuck with me and what's mine, then yes, I am the judge. I am the jury. And sometimes when the situation calls for it, I am the motherfucking executioner."

It all starts out with Doe, a woman who has lost her memory who stumbles across King and everything changes.King has just came out of prison and is finding out that he doesn't enjoy the lifestyle as much as he once did.He is a tattoo artist with a business which he runs with his partner Preppy. They were two kids with rough past and they dreamed of making it big. Doe wasn't planned for, she just walked in and things changed. King is drawn to her, she isn't like him yet they fit so perfectly together.

'King filled me so completely. Not just my body. My heart. My soul. My life. I didn't give a shit if I ever got my memory back. Because with King, I knew exactly who I was.'

This book broke my heart and left my emotions all over the place and then the cliffhanger? omg give me a break woman! I loved the main characters but what was great about this book was I loved the secondary characters just as much. Bear and Preppy! I love Preppy. If you don't love Preppy then I'm sorry we can't be friends.Everyone needs a Preppy in their life. I can not wait to find out more abut Bear he is such a loyal character and he intrigues me.

I recommend this book to everyone. You just need to read this book, actually read all of T.M. Frazier's books. You won't regret it ;)

Review: More Than Her (More Than #2) by Jay McLean

Synopsis
"For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction."

For every choice you make there are rewards,
or there are consequences.
It was my choice to walk away the first time.
And my choice to chase her the second.
But sometimes you don't get a choice,
and all you get are the consequences.

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,
while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”

Unless that someone is Logan Matthews.
Because loving him didn't give me
the strength to walk away.
It didn't give me
the courage to fight for him.
And when it was over,
all it gave me was a broken heart.

My Review
4 Stars!!

I really enjoyed More than this and I don't really know why I left this one soo late. I have been meaning to get round to it since ages but something always made me put it off. I think it may have been all the people that said they are in a love/hate relationship with Logan and I was just like whaaaat? Oh please i don't want to hate him what if i don't like him? This is not cool since I instantly liked him in More than this.It also may have been because it had two parts and I had a bad feeling it would end at a cliffhanger.Jay McLean loves to torture us ;)

"The worst part is that you and me--we could have been amazing. We could have had it all, Logan. Everything. And you fucked it up."

After finishing More than Her I have to say i totally understand why people felt that way. I just wanted to smack some sense into him gaaah! Why are boys so stupid?! *pulls hair out* so frustrating I swear! I wished he would tell Amanda exactly what he was feeling because that was totally unfair. The ending leaves you needing more since its definitely not the end to Amanda and Logan's story. I'm scared to carry on I just don't know how it's all going to work out and if all can be forgiven. I really hope its not going to be back and forth with a whole load of tension for long i really don't.But I'm intrigued to see what will happen how/if the characters develop. Logan's past was something alright..I always knew from the first moment you meet him in MTT that there was so much more to him and that underlying sadness. He has been pretty much lost and incomplete for a long time.He has been putting on quite convincing act with his friends and family. He wasn't living, just drifting along.

This book is fr anyone who enjoys a tearjerker, who wants their emotions to be all over the place, from laughter one minute, to tears the next.

"I'll follow you wherever, Logan. For as long as you'll have me."
Forever, I thought. But I kept that to myself.”

I also want more of the gang I want to know whats happening with Dylan and Heidi and whats up with that. Dylan is a mystery to me I need to know more and what his story is. Hopefully I will find out more in More than him when I get round to it ;)
