Excerpt

The music started, even as the butterflies played with my insides, his eyes locked with mine as the song started up slowly. David Cook's The Time Of My Life came on, the music filling the room around us.  I stumbled when he moved, and started to apologize until I caught the smile on his lips.  "I can't dance, Ryder.  You never said anything about dancing when I signed the contract."
"Take off your shoes," he countered, already releasing me and bending over to take his own footwear off.  I watched him as others did the same and eventually I ignored the brilliant blush that crept up to my cheeks and did the same, stepping out of the borrowed strappy heels.
Ryder smiled, and I stared at him, he was shockingly beautiful and ethereal.  Like a lion, you wanted to touch him, but knew by doing so he'd consume you, body and soul.  I swallowed and held my hand up for him to take it.
"Put your feet on mine, Synthia," he said quietly, aware that everyone was watching us.
I exhaled and obeyed him, knowing his men were watching us, as well as my coven.  When the song restarted, he carried us both, his hand once again on the small of my back.  Rubbing it softly as his fingers settled against it.  My heart raced from his touch, the deep desire in his eyes made it flip-flop as he swept me around the room until everyone else faded away, leaving us alone inside the room.
I smiled as I looked down to see our feet together. Nervous at being so close to him and doing something I had only ever done with my father. It had been the last thing we’d ever done together.  But with Ryder, it was intimate, sending heat flooding through me.  I looked back up, with the smile still in place, to catch him staring openly in wonder at me.  "What?" I asked growing self-conscious.
"You’re very beautiful, Synthia," he whispered tenderly.

What inspired you to write Fae chronicles?
I’d have to say it started with my Grandmother, she would tell us stories when I and my siblings were young. When we got a little older, she had us help tell the stories. When we got old enough, we told her the stories in our own version. Of course mine always had a boy and girl, and even though they began with boy germs…they eventually evolved into romance. I've always been a sucker for a happy ending, but I was always wrapped up in how they got to it. I’m also a sucker for an ending I can’t see coming, so I make sure my fans can’t guess it either.

Do any of the characters you created share your personality traits, habits or anything similar to you?

Hmm, well, I’m obsessed with nail polish, and I honestly can’t write unless my toes are painted. Insane, I know, but really, even if I can’t see them, they have to be painted. I am not a human unless you add coffee, I speak zombie fluently until the third cup. I share these traits with Synthia. I’m sarcastic, and I think I’m witty; my husband calls it being a smartass. I am very loyal, and will cut my own nose off to help people, but I believe in karma, and I also love to help people. Syn also has these…they also say that writers end up adding traits into their characters without knowing it. Guilty.

Guest Post/Giveaway: Top Five Bad Boys of 2013 By Kenya Wright

Bad Boys flooded the New Adult genre in 2013. Some made us drool. A few incited lusty scenes to play out in our heads way after we'd finished the book. For me, there are a few alphas that I still can't get out of my mind.

I just love them!

Here's my top five bad boys of 2013.

1. "Motorcycle Man" Sean

“Fear is like love. It has the same depths, the same intensity.” --Sean

2. Jack

“How can you think it's possible to have something this hot without one of us getting burned?”

3. Remy

"He's the strongest man I've ever seen, in my entire life, and I'm familiar enough with the subject to know that wired into my genes and DNA is a natural desire for healthy offspring, and with it comes a desperate urge to just full out mate with whoever I deem is the prime male of my species."

4. Drew

“Women fall in love quicker than men. Easier and more often. But when guys fall? We go down harder. And when things go bad? When it's not us who ends it? We don't get to walk away.
We crawl.”

5. Matt

“She left me alone in the riddle. I needed her because I loved her — or I loved her because I needed her. Why had the feelings turned to a maze? Now I was lost in the dark.”

Q:  What inspired you to write?
A:  My love of a good story.  I wanted to read a story the way I wanted it told.  I LOVE many books with characters that have tortured souls and tragic back stories.  And I LOVE stories of rockstars, tattoed bikers and billionaire alpha males as much as the next girl.  But I was getting tired of naive virgins and unexpected pregnancies and I just felt the need to read something about your average everyday woman.  I wanted a realistic character that I could relate to and Emma was it.  Em is the typical Aussie girl in her twenties with insecurites, an uncertain direction in life and a healthy sexual appetite.  I woke up one day twelve months ago with Emma, Seth and Nick in my head, and to me they felt like your average twenty-somethings with a typical upbringing that could tell a relatable story.  Plus they wouldn’t leave me alone!  My writing evolved from there.

Excerpts

#1
My heart starts to race at the sound of his voice over the loud speaker.  Immediately I seek out the location of the booth and spot him as he walks out of it.  He looks good.  I can’t believe he’s here.  I know my eyes are bugging out of my head but I can’t stop staring.  Not only is Nick the DJ tonight but there he is, in my direct line of sight with his arms around a girl.  And she’s very attractively smiling up at him.
“I’m sorry Em!” Kat yells in my ear.  “I swear he was not the DJ listed to play, you saw the posters outside the club too.”
I swipe at my eyes as angry tears form in them.  She’s right, we had both checked.  There must have been a cancellation or something, it’s the only explanation.  I stand still as a statue as I watch Nick put his arm around the girl’s shoulder and they head for the exit.
“Em.”  Kat’s pulling on my arm.  “Please look at me.”
When I can no longer see Nick, I turn to face her.  The look on her face is a mixture of pity and pleading.
“Who’s for another drink?” I ask with false cheer.  I don’t wait for a reply from either of the girls as I hastily make my way to the bar.  I shove my way to the front, not caring about the toes I’m stepping on or the rudeness of my approach.  I don’t care that I am cutting in line.  I yell out my order for a shot of tequila.  Before I’ve even paid, I have drunk it and ordered another.  Kat spins me back to face her.
“I’m sorry Em.  I swear I didn’t know.”
I turn away from her.  I feel the hot tears about to overflow from my eyes as I hand over my money to the bartender and swallow my second shot.  I look Kat square in the eyes.
“I want to go home.”

 #2
Why does he have to be so sweet and caring?  Why does he have to make this so much harder?  I could feel his emotions, feel his love, when he was looking at my drawings.  He meant what he said.  He thinks I’ve got talent.  Hearing Nick say that meant so much more to me than anyone else.  I have had positive feedback before, but Nick loving my work means the world to me.
Nick means the world to me.

Guest Post- What Inspired you to write?
In all honesty I have always wanted to write a book, but after having four kids and a husband it's a bit hard to find time to write like I would like too. Me and my sister had talked about writing a book together which was actually The Escape, but she wasn't feeling to inspired so I in turn wrote it my self with her beta reading the whole time. I found it easy to write this book, and I think it's because not only am I a huge fan of living in the country, but I too married my own best friend/ redneck country boy so Paisley was inspired a lot from my husband. Also I have a set of twins (but there boy/ girl. This book just poured out of me as I wrote. Now the one I am working on now "The Million dollar affair is going to take a bit longer because it's not a novella. It's set to be released in January

Blog Tour/Guest Post/Giveaway: American Girl On Saturn By Nikki Godwin

Title: American Girl On Saturn

Author: Nikki Godwin

Release date: August 29th, 2013

Genre: Young Adult

Tour: Irresistible Reads Book Tours

Book Description:
The summer after graduation is supposed to be that first real taste of freedom - but not for eighteen-year-old Chloe Branson. Just as that breeze of freedom is making its way into her galaxy, her secret-service-agent dad drops a meteor-sized bomb of bad news on her and her sisters. An attempt has been made on the lives of Canadian boyband, Spaceships Around Saturn, during their USA tour, and the guys have to go into hiding ASAP. The only problem? In the midst of the crisis and media frenzy, their dad volunteered to hide the guys...in their house.

Six-year-old Emery is as ecstatic as any self-proclaimed Saturnite would be, but Chloe and her seventeen-year-old sister Aralie watch their summer plans crash and burn like a falling star. The SAS guys aren't happy with the situation, either. Bad boy Jules picks fights with Aralie about everything from his Twitter followers to his laundry, and heart-throb Benji can't escape Emery's fangirlisms for more than three minutes.

But after the super-cute Milo kisses Chloe during a game of hide-and-seek, she finally understands what Emery means when she talks about SAS being "out of this world." If this is what Saturn feels like, Chloe doesn't want to come back to Earth.

Guest Post - Inspiration

As much as I'd love to take credit for the idea of American Girl On Saturn, it was actually the idea of my sister, Emily. Many months ago, we were in the Taco Bell parking lot when she said, "You know what'd be a good book? If there was a boyband and something bad happened to them, so they had to go into hiding, and they ended up staying with some government agent and his family. And it'd be told from the point of view of the teenage daughter. You know, what it's like to have a boyband crashing at your house and spending your summer on lockdown."

Two weeks later, I was still thinking about this idea, so I asked her if she was planning on writing it. She said it'd be a fun book to read, but it wasn't "her type" of book to write. Then she said, "But you can write it if you want." I was on the couch that night with a bag of colored Sharpies and my One Direction notebook plotting American Girl On Saturn.

To be very honest, One Direction did inspire a lot of this book. How could they not? It's a book about a boyband, and they're only the most famous boyband in the world right now. I adore their music, and I admire their talent and drive to be the best they can be. I also very much respect them for taking on such an insane, hectic life at such young ages. Their music played in the background many nights while writing this.

But they aren't the only band who brought American Girl On Saturn to life. Punk-pop band Simple Plan influenced a lot of little things in this book (like Milo and Noah's middle names, the fact that the guys are from Canada, etc.) and rock band Hawthorne Heights inspired the fictional band Sebastian's Shadow, the main character Chloe's favorite band. Overall, a love for music in general inspired this book. Anyone who has ever fangirled over a band or stood in line for tickets or held tightly to an album to get them through a tough time will be able to relate to this book. Music is a universal language, and this story is a fun romance told from the point of view of a girl who gets to experience music from the other side.

My Review
4.5 Hot, Ryder-Loving, Fast-Paced, Fantastic Stars!!

Have you ever heard of the old Celtic legends of the Fae - beautiful, magical, and deadly creatures that have a love of messing with humans just for kicks and giggles?

Synthia (Syn) is a witch and she hates the Fae due to witnessing her parent be being killed by them..does that make them all evil?
Can she judge them based on what a couple of them did to her parents?

"It was why they were considered the most deadly of the Otherworld. They could make you like it as they fucked you to death.."

The book starts out where Syn meets the Prince of the Dark Fae who wants Syn to work for him, he wants her to pose as a decoy for the dark prince of the fae Ryder's fiancée because he thinks her life is under threat..

After signing a contract and handing herself over to the Dark Fae things begin to get more complicated..Witches and Faes are being slaughtered and their body parts have been removed..

What are they doing with the body parts they are collecting?

Can Syn and Ryder find the killer and stop the murders?

"..I was reckless and a loose cannon.Okay that was a little harsh.I wasn't a loose cannon-I just didn't take shit from anyone"

Okay so when I got this book I had forgotten what it was about when I check it out on goodreads I was like..whatt? What the hell fairies and shit? Will I even enjoy this?

The answer was hell yeah !

At the starting I was thinking hmmm what am I getting myself into?
And then you meet Ryder..

"His eyes smiled mischievously as if he was commanding me to do so.Heat flowed through me, his hands offered more support as my legs trembled once more with the need to come...His soul was fucking me from the inside and it was intensely seductive and powerful"

Ryder..Ryder ahh what can I say..he bloody has me hooked, hot alpha male and so damn mysterious.
There is something off about him he is hiding things but what are they? Oh how I would love to jump into his head and find out!
Is he evil or is he the good guy?

Give me the next book right now and I will tell you!
Urgh how I hate waiting..

I loved Syn and Ryder's love/hate relationship it was fun and hot!

I really liked Syn's character yes yes she is a badass! She is a perfect fit for Ryder, she challenges him at each turn..
Cant wait to find out what will happen between them in book 2!

Why did no-one tell me it ends on a cliffhanger?!!?
ahhhhhhhhhhhh the ending was like fuckkkkkk wtf is going on!! :O :O

"Never challenge me.I promise that you will lose.Every.Fucking.Time"

Guest Post: What inspired you to write this book?
I actually had the idea of this book in my head for almost seven years. I had started a few books for this one, and ended up trashing them because it wasn't perfect. After Ryder finally growled enough inside my head, I gave up and wrote his story. Nothing actually inspired it, so much as Ryder growling that it was time for me to get serious and give and Syn their story.
