Review: Disfigured Love by Georgia Le Carre

Synopsis

Once unmasked, can beauty love the beast?...

My name is Lena Seagull. I should still be in school, hanging out with friends, meeting boys, falling in love—just like you. But on my eighteenth birthday my father sold me. Now, those are yesterday’s dreams.

My home is now a remote castle. And the man who owns me? I have never seen him.

Guy Hawke keeps his face hidden under a mask. At first, I knew only fear, but now his voice and touch make me unashamedly want him. Each night, his hired help blindfolds me, and takes me to his room. He whispers that I am beautiful and we have wild, torrid sex. When I awaken he is always gone.

He and his castle hold dark secrets that I must unravel, but what he fears most—being unmasked—is my deepest desire.

Will either of us survive the consequences of my desire?

My Review
5 Beautiful Beast Stars!!

I loved this book! When I first saw this I was like, I need this book because this sounds great. I loved beauty and the beast (though I wanted him to always stay the beast and not turn back to a pretty boy) and I just couldn't wait to get started. I really needed this one to work for me since the previous book I had been reading had just been too slow and really wasn't working for me.So when I got this one I just hoped it would bring me out of the book funk. And it soooo did! I saw mixed ratings on GRs, looked like one of those that you love or just think they are meh. I've recently stopped judging a book because of the rating or reviews of others, well not judging but I do give some books a miss because of the stars which annoys me. I don't ever want to miss an incredible book because of book rating or other people's opinion.

"Have you ever done something shameful to survive?" I asked defiantly.
"Yes." His voice was unemotional and cold.
I was shocked. I had not really expected him to answer me.
"What?" I whispered.
"I bought you."

I'm so happy I read this one, it consisted of so much emotion and my heart was all over the place by the ending. This is the fist book I have read by Georgia Le Carre but it definitely won't be the last. The writing, the characters, the story had me at the edge of my seat.I was hooked from the first page and by the last I never wanted to let go. I wanted to curl up in this book and stay there..or maybe just in Guy's bed? That's cool too ;)

"The answer to the question you asked yesterday is simple. You are mine. You will always be mine and only mine. And while I am alive you will never have another man in you body."

I read through the night and really needed to put it down, and when I did I was still thinking about it. A chapter more can't hurt right? I need to know what will happen next!!

The top thing for me to love a book is that it has to make me feel, that doesn't mean it has to be all good feelings. Any emotion (other that hate for the characters and story lol) the author can draw out of me is a good thing! And this was one of those books for me, there were moments that were intense and painful. My heart felt like it was being squeezed so tight and other moments where I was giddy with happiness. And Lena's brothers part just bloody broke me *sobs* I was crushed and so angry, hurt and so many other feelings that don't have names.

“I thought I was holding on tight but she had slipped out like sand.”

I would have loved more Guy POVs, we just see small glimpses through his point of view. Oh and I want to know where the other siblings got to, what happened to them? Can they get their story? Because that would be awesome. Now I'm off to check out and add GLC's other books to my to-read!!

Review: Trust (Finding Anna #4) by Sherri Hayes

Book 1- Slave
Book 2- Need
Book 3- Truth
Book 4- Trust

Synopsis
***Book 4 of a 4 book series***

Brianna is lost for the fourth time in her life. Each time was unexpected, and each changed the course of her future. The first life-altering event occurred when her mother died, and she moved to Minnesota to live with her father.

The second was when she was kidnapped at the age of seventeen and forced to be a slave. She would never forget those ten months. Brianna thought her life was over.

Everything changed again the day Stephan steamrolled into her life and brought her home to live with him. She had no idea what to expect—what life with her new Master would hold. That first month with Stephan was, in some ways, more confusing than the prior ten. As a slave, she’d known her place. With Stephan everything was new and different. He’d given her freedom and so much more.

Five months after Stephan rescued her, Brianna once again finds her life flipped upside down.

In this fourth, and final, installment of Finding Anna, Brianna must unearth strength she never knew she possessed. Stephan can no longer protect her from the outside world. She must learn to trust herself, embrace who she is, and discover who she wants to be. Only by facing her demons can Brianna find true happiness and peace.

My Review
3 I love Stephan Stars!!

Ahhh I don't know where to start with this one.I was really looking forward to it since I loved the rest of the books in this series but it seems like this one didn't quite live up to my expectations.I think this series should have finished in book 3 instead of it ending in a cliffhanger. The start of this kind of dragged, a little slow for my liking.I always hate when the main characters are separated but this was excruciating I just felt like wtf! Where are the awesome Brianna and Stephan scenes which I love? I was just like flipping pages thinking oh someone stop me when they are together..okay I didn't really do that but oh boy was I tempted!!

I would still recommend this series! Its just such a brilliant series about a slave, a victim of human trafficking who has been saved and needs to start building herself up again with the help of her hot, sexy savior Stephan! I absolutely adore Stephan and always will he was so patient and loving *sighh* all the things I could say about him..the list is endless.

As long as she delivers, the arrangement that protects her family will hold.

The one thing she can't deliver is a captive from slavery.
Until him.
And her stubborn slave thinks he can deliver her...from herself.

Romantic Thriller
Stand Alone (no cliff-hanger).
The sequel is coming Summer 2014.
Content warning: Graphic sex, violence, and psychological abuse. Age 18+ only.

He slammed a fist into the nearest tree trunk. Again. Again. Pain ricocheted through his hand, down his arm, and fed his breaking heart. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught her silhouette standing a few yards away. A slender shadow, shrouded by darkness. And in her raised arms, she held a gun, trained on him.
He threw another fist. Absorbed the burn. Expelled the rancor. He knew she was holding a gun on him to prevent him from running and putting her family at further risk. Regardless, she
wouldn’t shoot him. Not because she needed a slave, but because she loved what was hers with a
self-destructing passion. He faced her and held out his arms. “I’m yours.”
The girl and the gun didn’t move.

“Lose the damned mask and stop hiding from me.” He raked his throbbing hands through his hair. “Scream, cry, hit something. Hit me. But for God’s sake, let it out.”

The shadowy lines of her body wavered. The gun lowered, returned to her boot.He stretched out his arms, savoring the cool breeze brushing over his unrestrained skin. “I stand here without rope or chains, Liv, tethered to you by my own will.” His blood beat with the ferocity of his words. “I won’t be free until you are.”
Her head jerked back, her body rigid. Then she walked straight to him and unleashed her fists on his chest. She clobbered him over and over, her gasps accelerating with each fall of her hand. The lashing didn’t hurt. Not like the whimpers rising from her chest. She was hurting, lashing out for the wrongs that had been done to her. A sharp pain swelled in his throat. The only thing he could do was take it in, try to bear some of it for her. He held his arms out and his body open. When her hits ebbed into weak slaps, she stumbled back, hugging herself and clutching her elbows. His heartbeat slogged through the ache in his chest. He kept his arms outstretched and
whispered, “I’m here.”

REVIEW
4.5 Stars!

Wow I did not expect this, okay I will be honest I thought I would hate this book because I am sick of all the slave books with similar story lines so I was dreading this thinking ohh god this is going to take me ages to read and I will be bored..i was sooo WRONG!!
I want to go back in time and slap the negativity right out of myself pft!

This is my first Pam Godwin book so I was skeptical and didn't know what to expect.Well let me say Pam Godwin sucked me right in and never let go.Took me on a roller-coaster of highs and lows that had me heart racing, hurting and trying to leap out of my chest! This is the first book I am reading where the male is the captive and I am surprised at how much I liked it as usually role reversal kind of puts me off.I loved the complexity of the characters and how they challenged me.Many times throughout the book I was thinking hmm..what would I do in that situation?

She was stolen innocence, following the rules of monsters. Somewhere along the way, she'd become one.

When I started this book and read about Joshua Carter, a honest man with so much going for him, his family, his friends I was like oh noo! I was just dreading it and thinking oh I am going to hate Liv the deliverer.Knowing that Joshua was an innocent virgin boy driving to his destruction I just didn't want to read more but no I forced myself to keep reading because I needed to know what the fuss was about and if it would be a boring story-line or what! Curiosity kept me going and I am so glad it did because everything happened the opposite as I was assuming would happen and I really did like Liv's character.

This book challenges your beliefs and shows how some people are unwilling monsters, they don't want to be but sometimes it the only way to survive is to become a monster. It shows how far people are willing to go for loved ones. Makes you question whether all monsters are redeemable or maybe they have no hope?

The job, the job, the job. Focus on the job. Be the job. Or else. It was all she was, a mechanical, hollow nothing that did anything needed to prevent the else.

Liv has a job to do, after taking Joshua she needs to train him to become a slave to be sold to the client. But Joshua isn't like the rest she has delivered he has a family who will look for him, he is pure and honest and maybe Liv didn't take him for the job maybe she took him for herself. He has everything that she will never have and they have a connection right from the start.

Okay one character I had mixed feelings about was Van.Oh Van you sadistic prick! I wanted to kill him, he really freaked me out especially the bloody weird fetish he has with mannequins *shudders*
All the things he has done and for so long really?

“Someday, I hope to matter to you, because you are the only one who matters to me. You will always be mine, Liv.”

Can it all really be forgiven and forgotten just like that? When I heard his story I was like Damn! Why you gotto confuse me like that? now I don't know what to feel.I think I understood some part of him, he was basically lost and alone and he seemed to think Liv could save him.He thought he loved Liv and that she would eventually love him back and somehow heal him? I don't even know why I am making excuses for him! Okay I may have felt a little sorry for him and can't wait to read his own book ;)

If you are looking for a book filled with suspense, twists, romance and much more this is definitely one for you!

Review/Giveaway: Madeline Abducted (The Estate #1 ) By M.S.Willis

Book Description:
She was meant to be his destruction…

A pawn played in a perilous game between

father and son…

Yet, her strength was more than either
man could imagine.
As Maddy learns to save herself…
She becomes the one thing that could
set the son free.

Madeleine Clark was raised to become a concert cellist. Sheltered and naïve, she remains hidden behind her music, a protection from the world around her. On the night of her first solo performance, Maddy accepts the admiration of a stranger and finds herself captive in a cruel and twisted power struggle between a sadistic father and his son, Aaron.

Seemingly, dangerous and uncaring, Aaron manages the business operations of his father’s estate. Wanting nothing to do with the slaves kept at the Estate, Aaron refuses to take part in the deeper depravities of his father. Despite his resistance, Aaron’s father ‘gifts’ him with a petite, brunette woman he can’t refuse.

A bond forged in conspiracy and deceit, Aaron struggles to save Maddy by teaching her to survive in the world in which he’d been raised. An unlikely union, Aaron soon learns that great strengths can exist within small packages, while Madeleine learns that love and light can exist in the darkest of places.

My Review
5 DARK, CAPTIVATING, HEART-WRENCHING STARS!

So when I saw the synopsis to this I thought hell yeah! dark, captivity book? Lets add that to my list. Then I got an arc *happy dance* saw the first page and the warning just got me even more excited!!

This is a story that is not meant for the faint of heart. If you are looking for inspiration, if you are looking for light, if you are looking for something that will help you sleep and dream, you've come to the wrong place.

C'mon after reading that you think..

"Madeleine didn't mind people hearing her music, she preferred not being seen, being protected withing the studia or her home, invisible to the eyes of the world."

Madeleine is a cellist,a shy quiet woman who has been sheltered all her life. She likes to stay hidden and through music she expresses herself. One night after an amazing performance where she takes center stage for the first time things change. That night changes Maddy's whole life, she will never get her sheltered life back again.

She is taken.

Abducted.
To become a slave to her master.
To only speak when told to do so.
She is taken to The Estate.

Joseph Carmichael head of The Estate, a sick, demented, disgusting human who is determined to get his son Aaron to follow in his footsteps, to have the evil consume him and for him to live The Estate lifestyle is the reason Maddy's life is flipped upside down. As Aaron is drawn to her music his father decides Maddy wrapped in a bow would be a suitable present for his son.

The last thing Aaron wants is to be like his father, an evil, sick man but he can't refuse his gift, he can't let Maddy die. Will he allow the evil to consume him?

Deep breaths, Maddy...you can do this..

Aaron has lived in The Estate since he was a child with his best friend and guard Xander..rape, slavery, abuse surrounded them. They have killed but never would they rip apart a life of an innocent and condemn them to slavery, abuse and rape.Together they have a plan to end it all..

I was intrigued and hooked on this, the story is written very well, with a slightly poetic touch to it.The characters were great I loved the light and darkness aspect to it.Even with all the darkness surrounding Aaron he found a way to cling to that little bit of light and Madeleine is a true survivor even with all the lightness she brings to Aaron's life there is much more to her.She is a strong woman who adapts to her traumatic life situation and learns to live, learns to rule and learns to carry on no matter what happens.

"Although it is easy to scream for a victim to run or fight when you see them in a movie or read about them in a book, the futility of the situation is far more evident when you find yourself in their place."

This book is in Maddy, Aaron and even some bits from Xander's POV. I didn't really understand why Xander's POV was required at the start I was worried it would turn into a love triangle, which I would have hated so yeah so glad when that wasn't the case. The next book is on Xander! Yay can't wait!!

"Although it is easy to scream for a victim to run or fight when you see them in a movie or read about them in a book, the futility of the situation is far more evident when you find yourself in their place."

Bravo M.S.Willis you have done an excellent job on this one!
So dark, disturbing book lovers this one is for you, go grab it ;)

Review: Seduced in the Dark (The Dark Duet #2) by C.J. Roberts

Dark Duet Series
Book 1-Captive in the dark

Book 2- Seduced in the dark

Book 3- Epilogue

Synopsis

The exciting, titillating, and action-filled conclusion to Captive in the Dark.

What is the price of redemption?

Rescued from sexual slavery by a mysterious Pakistani officer, Caleb carries the weight of a debt that must be paid in blood.

The road has been long and fraught with uncertainty, but for Caleb and Livvie, it’s all coming to an end.

Can he surrender the woman he loves for the sake of vengeance?

Or will he make the ultimate sacrifice?

Quote:
It seemed to Caleb, the nature of human beings revolved around one empirical truth: we want what we cannot have. For Eve, it was the fruit of the forbidden tree. For Caleb, it was Livvie.

~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~
My Review

5 Brilliant, Haunting,Emotional and Twisted stars!

“In the dark, my master let down his guard and he was Caleb again. He didn’t correct me. He didn’t punish me. He didn’t push me away emotionally. Caleb was there to hold me until the nightmares passed. He was there to tell me I was beautiful. He was there to tell me I was going to be okay. In the dark, he seduced me. I didn’t want the seduction to end.”

This book was intense, it had me on edge, angry, sad, laughing at parts and then wanting to kill someone..
This really messed with my head! what a fantastic powerful and captivating book.It got me thinking about how many more Calebs and Olivias there are out there, who will probably never be saved or never have a chance at a normal life.

“Some stories aren't black and white.”

The story of Livvie and Caleb continues in Seduced in the dark.
It starts off where Livvie is with FBI Agent Reed (I liked his character I wanted more of his story) and she is retelling her story of how she was kidnapped, abused and so on.

“Live for me, Kitten. Be all those things you'd never be with me. Go to school. Meet a normal boy and fall in love. Forgive me. It's time for you to go, Kitten. Time for us both, to go.”

Many times I felt disgusted disturbed and shocked by the things that happen! My emotions where all over the place and for this Caleb was to blame (mostly)

There where times I wanted to kill him because of the stupid things he did and how he humiliated Livvie. Also because he was being a right idiot when he lost control over his feelings..You cant bloody control everything and some things are just meant to happen!

I liked how both characters Livvie and Caleb change and grow throughout the book. They became stronger especially Livvie she never stopped fighting she truly is a survivor. Now most of you would probably thing its stupid that she thinks she is in love with Caleb after all he did to her, right? She is probably suffering from Stockholm Syndrome, right? Wrong!

“The naïve girl in me had been bitch-slapped into womanhood. I’d been razed by pain, grief, loss and suffering, and honed by lust, rage and an acute awareness of my need to survive.”

Livvie got to know the real Caleb who no-one bothered to get to know..He let his guard down at times and she loved every part of him.You find out a lot more about Caleb and understand how be became this monster.A monster due to circumstances? A tortured soul that needs love and acceptance? Monsters aren't born they are created

“Dealing with Caleb was all about perspective. You couldn’t appreciate his kindness until you’d felt his cruelty.”

How do you carry on when you find out everything you were told is a lie?
When I found out about Caleb's past ..oh my emotions were all over the place!

The ending was perfect yet I still want more Caleb and Livvie!

My Review

4 What.The.Bloody.Fuck, Disturbing, Sparrow loving star!!

What would you do if you were taken?
Made to become a slave?
Would you submit and become numb to it all?
Or would you fight to survive?

This is a great debut novel for Pepper Winters! Bravo!
This is an incredible painful, broken story based around human trafficking, pain, pleasure, submission, ownership and belonging.

Tess was never normal with family that neglected and abandoned her stamping her as a mistake to her boyfriend Brax who cant accept her for who she is but also wont let her go as she is the only one he has to call family. She pushes her desires away as she feels embarrassed and feels hurt as Brax always puts her down makes her feel like what she wants is wrong..Is it so wrong that she wants to be tied up, spanked? That she wants him to dominate her?

"Brax wanted me. Brax was safe. I loved him in my own way."

What happens when her fantasies become reality? What happens when she has no say? When she meets evil, cold people who look at her as nothing but an object to satisfy their pleasure?..Nothing but a slave..

“I hadn’t gone Stockholmy- I hated him, knew what he did was wrong, but my body, shit, my body didn’t care.”

Things seem to be going well in Tess's life, well as good as they can be with Brax. He surprises her and takes her on holiday, Tess decides this is the time where she will share her fantasies with him..But nothing really goes as planned and she ends up being taken by some men and the last she sees of Brax is him laying in his own blood. Next thing you know and Tess has been sold..

Sold to a world of torture, pain and slavery..
How hard would you fight to escape?

“I want to hurt you.

I want to own you.

I want to devour you.
I want to make you mine.
I’m already yours.”

She is shipped of and arrives at a mansion and in steps Q her new master. The moment he sets eyes on her he knows she is different. And he knows he has to make her his.Tess sees Q as a mystery, a mysterious monster. Is he really evil or is there more to this powerful rich man than meets the eye?

"Only think of me and what I’m doing. There is intimacy in pain esclave. Let me make your pain my pleasure."

He has secrets of his own and demons he is trying to keep at bay. There are two sides to Q the monster and then there is the man.. what happens when the monster wants to take what he believes is rightfully his?
Tess is curious about her new master, why is he so angry or sad? What is it that he hides from everyone? How can he be a good person if he buys slaves? Ahh questions, questions..

What will happen when Tess collides into Q's world and turns everything upside down?

Will her need to escape from Q bring her more pain than she can handle?

When I finished this book I really had to stop and gather myself as my emotions were all over the place..I really couldn't tell you what I was feeling just a big bundle of fucked up emotions!I was like uhmmm is it wrong that I fell for Q in all his fucked up ways?
He is as broken as Tess they both need the pain as well as the pleasure. They are two pieces of a puzzle. They need to learn to accept who they are and be more open with each other and not let their pasts define their present. They both bury down their darkness their fantasies and act like they are normal.

I cant wait to find out how the story continues, how their relationship will grow or will it be broken?

Review: Killing Sarai (In the Company of Killers #1) By J.A.Redmerski

Synopsis

Sarai was only fourteen when her mother uprooted her to live in Mexico with a notorious drug lord. Over time she forgot what it was like to live a normal life, but she never let go of her hope to escape the compound where she has been held for the past nine years.

Victor is a cold-blooded assassin who, like Sarai, has known only death and violence since he was a young boy. When Victor arrives at the compound to collect details and payment for a hit, Sarai sees him as her only opportunity for escape. But things don’t go as planned and instead of finding transport back to Tucson, she finds herself free from one dangerous man and caught in the clutches of another.

While on the run, Victor strays from his primal nature as he succumbs to his conscience and resolves to help Sarai. As they grow closer, he finds himself willing to risk everything to keep her alive; even his relationship with his devoted brother and liaison, Niklas, who now like everyone else wants Sarai dead.

As Victor and Sarai slowly build a trust, the differences between them seem to lessen, and an unlikely attraction intensifies. But Victor’s brutal skills and experience may not be enough in the end to save her, as the power she unknowingly holds over him may ultimately be what gets her killed.

This is their story…

My Review

5 Fast Paced, Action Packed Stars!!

“In the end, you can only trust yourself. I am not your hero. I am not the other half of your soul who could never let anything bad ever happen to you. Trust your instincts first always, and me, if you choose, last.”

Killing Sarai starts off with a bang! I was hooked and could not stop reading it..It is a brilliant action packed thriller I felt like I was in a movie aha! This is the first book I have read by J.A. Redmerski I will be moving all her book to the top of my tbr shelf!

The story is about Sarai who was only fourteen when her mother uprooted her to live in Mexico with a notorious drug lord. Over time she learned to survive in the situations she found herself in and lost all hope that she would ever live a normal life..the one thing she never lost hope on, was escape..freedom.So when an American comes to make a deal with her owner she thinks its a great way to escape.

Little does she know that things don't always go to plan. The American called Victor, who she thought she would escape with turns out to be a cold-blooded assassin. She finds herself free from one dangerous man and caught in the clutches of another.

"I need you to help me... I've been a prisoner of Javier's since I was fourteen years old."
"And you assume I'm going to help because I am also American," he said simple.
I hesitate before I answer, "I-I... well why wouldn't you?"
"It is not my business to interfere."
"Then what IS your business? I ask with a trace of distaste. "To murder people in cold blood?"
"Yes."

As Victor and Sarai grow closer they see how they aren't that different from each other. Victor finds himself risking everything to keep Sarai alive, even his relationship with his devoted brother and liaison, Niklas, who now like everyone else wants Sarai dead.

"Despite my growing fear, I still want to be right where I am, trapped in the merciless arms of a killer."

I loved it! There wasn't a dull moment in this book it was bloody perfect! Loved all the characters and the story-line. I cant wait to find out more about Victor, I really need the next book like NOW!

Sarai is a beautiful strong character who is a survivor. She has been in difficult messed up situations that many people wouldn't survive but she comes out of them alive and stronger then ever before.

Are killers born? Or are they made due to atrocities they witness? Is it a choice?

Victor is a cold blooded Assassin with a conscience..Yes I fell for him! He was just amazing.I wanted to know more about him he finds it difficult to trust people which is understandable in his line of work, yet he starts opening up to Sarai. I loved the fact that the book was in both Sarai's and Victor's POV it gave me a better overall understanding of the situations and about how they both felt.

I just didn't want it to end..
