Review: Between Shadows by Chanel Cleeton

Synopsis

A sexy new thriller about love and revenge from the author of the Capital Confessions and International School series…
X lives by three rules: Show no weakness. Trust no one. Don’t get caught. She lives by the rules they gave her.

The Academy—set in London, shrouded in secrecy—it trains spies, computer experts, and assassins. Their mission? Dispensing justice and altering the course of world politics. Or so they think. In a world where secrets are weapons and some kills are impossible to forget, everything X thought she knew about her life is about to change.

They taught her to fight. To blend into the shadows like a ghost, to operate on the fringes of society, to change her identity with ease. They taught her to kill.

She’ll need every skill they taught her, to stay alive.

My Review

3.5 Stars!!

This is the first book I have read by Chanel Cleeton and I am pleasantly surprised. After not reading for what seems like ages but I''m sure it was only a day or two but it felt like a long time anyways this was great. I loved how action packed it was but not over the top or too much. It's been a while since I read anything consisting of adventure/ action in it and this really worked.

'We're in way over our heads and I need him as an asset more than I can want him as a man.'

The characters were likable, even though X did annoy me at times.I loved how Luke and X had great chemistry. I wanted to know more about them or have Luke's POV. I wanted more on their relationship and romance, also the whole Academy thing could have been explained better or been a bit more detailed I think that's where it dropped points. I needed more!

This is book 1 of a series but can be read as a standalone. It's a fast- paced book which will keep you on the edge of your seat! I'm looking forward to the next book I wonder who it will be about.I would have loved for Luke and X's story to continue on, I'm not sure how it will all come together but it definitely started off well and hopefully it can only get better.

Excerpt:

“I’m sorry,” Shadus’ voice says.

My eyes slide over – Shadus is standing right next to me, leaning on the bookshelf. I close my eyes and sigh.

“Don’t be. It’s me. Something’s wrong with me. I don’t know how to react like a normal person. Jeers, whispers, sneers, those are fine. I ignore them, punch something to make them hurt less. Compliments? I don’t know what to do with those.”

“You’re different. That’s not necessarily bad,” He offers. His long fingers skim over a row of books and he picks one out, flipping through the pages. “More literature in which the protagonist kisses his interest. Is it all your human writers are interested in? It hardly seems worthy enough to devote entire books to.”

“It’s not so bad,” I defend. “Kissing.”

“You speak from experience?” He asks.

“Second grade during the school play. Arnold Grady. We were backstage, behind the curtain. I thought it was a good time to go for it.”

“It was enjoyable, then?”

“Too wet.” I laugh, the memory burning like an old tattoo of embarrassment. “He was shorter than me - all the boys were. They’ve only started catching up this year, really.”

“I’m jealous.”

I raise an eyebrow. “What? Of the short boys?”

“Of your kiss. You speak of it fondly. Even if it was lacking technique, you still remember it. It must have been an important experience. I assume I will never know that sort of feeling - ”

I step into him. He jolts back, hitting the bookshelf. It shakes, and settles. I point up at him.

“Be thankful. You guys have the ceremony of flame. You don’t waste time with petty shit and he-likes-her-she-likes-him crap. Your future is arranged by your family. But us? Humans? We fish around blindly in a pool of seven billion people, hoping one of them isn’t too crazy or too incompatible with us, and we get so desperate that when we find someone we can stand for two minutes we decide to marry them for life, when in reality they’re all wrong for us. But we keep pretending they’re right, until we can’t anymore, and then we divorce them or break up and we get up and try again, and again, and it chips away at our tiny human hearts.”

He stares at me intently, as if I’m lecturing him and he’s trying his hardest to learn something from it. I snort.

“You’re lucky, Creeps. All you Gutters are lucky.”

“What you call ‘lucky’, I call ‘boring’,” Shadus says. “The human way of things may be more painful, but it sounds much more fun.”

I stride up to him, get in his face. His chest is rising and falling, his fists balled up. His ruby eyes stare down at me.

“Don’t do it,” He murmurs.

“Do what?”  I singsong.

He struggles with something inside himself, a pained look coming over his expression.

“Victoria -”

I press my head into the cradle where his neck meets his shoulder.

My Review

4.5 I-love-Aliens Stars!!

Okay I have read a few alien books and loved them so I totally went in ready for this one.I absolutely loved the lovely vicious series by Sara Wolf (Book 3 I am waiting for you!) and I will be reading everything this awesome woman writes. I was captivated by just the synopsis and was super excited when I got an arc.

'But they’re more than just mates. They’re extra limbs, extensions of each other and at the same time, mirror reflections. Two faces of one coin and all that. Even when they’re far away, they’re always with each other. That is how deep their bond is.'

Aliens aka Gutters have landed on earth. They have been living here for 11 years now and the government have now decided to create a school where Gutters and Humans can live and take the same classes. You are each set up with a partner who will be your mentor of sorts. This school is set up help gutters and humans with understanding that they should live together in peace and not violence. To give humans a better understanding of Gutters and vice versa. There is also the part where those who sign up become an EVE(Emotion Vesicle Engraft) these are people- and one of few humans who are genetically capable of producing emotions for the Gutters to feed on.Those who volunteer get a largo sum of money and thats the only reason Vic is there.

Victoria Hale aka Vic has just signed up to become and EVE. She doesn't care for the Gutters, not even a little bit.She is here for the money and not to make friends. After her mother was killed during a protest against Gutters she hates them, she blames them. All she needs to do is go to school and live with them peacefully to make sure she gets the money she needs. Simple right?

Wrong!

She is partnered up with Shadus. He is just a ray of sunshine! LOL

Brown eyes. I do a double take.

They aren’t quite brown, more like rust. The irises streak with red, like the color of blood. They belong to a male Gutter. His eyes are shadowed by thick lashes and long bangs, his hair unkempt and messy. He’s slouched, elbows on the table behind him. His body is lean, like he doesn’t eat properly. His cheekbones are razor sharp and his shoulders are broad, his expression completely bored on his olive skin.

Oh Shadus.I love you! I need an alien.Anyone out there? Get in contact asap ;)

I loved Shadus and Vic's banter, they were hilarious! I really wanted more scenes with just them too, I NEED more Shadus and Vic scenes! Both of them are stubborn and feel something for the another they just don't want to accept it, oh there were funny awkward moments and then everything got crazy.

“It sounds like Creeps. Crepes. Creeps,” He tries experimentally.

There’s a silence.

“That was my attempt at human humor.”

That ending! Sara Wolf why you gotto torture me like that? why! Every book of yours I read you have to kill me with the cliffhanger endings.I can't wait much longer woman! :P Can't wait to find out what will happen next and how Shadus and Vic's relationship develops..please please be more Shadus and Vic scenes! The writing had me hooked from the start and I didn't want this book to end.

My Review

4.5-5 Action-packed, Twisted, Unexpected Stars!!

Margaret never stops surprising me! The story has so many twists and unexpected moments it keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through and when you see that you are nearly finished you think oh I can finally breath and then POOF! ending knocks the wind right out of you!

"You called me Honey.Thank you Anna"
"Is that okay?" He told me he wanted me to call him by an affectionate name and that's what I picked.I don't think he would've liked me calling him 'dead motherfucker'.

Book 2 of the HiT series and it carries on from where book 1 left off.Anna is back with a bang! New enemies to take down more secrets to uncover and obviously more bad people to kill.Falling in love with someone she was supposed to kill wasn't supposed to happen but it did and now she will do anything to make sure Ben Pearson is safe from danger. So what happens when someone extremely dangerous comes to St Cloud? Someone even Anna will struggle against.Power, greed, money and sins..he has lots of it and he loves his power and control. What happens when these two dangerous people go head to head?

Anna has disappeared and hasn't met Ben since she left..or so Ben thinks. What he doesn't know is that she has been at St Cloud all this time, hiding in plain sight. In this book you saw a softer side to Anna as well as her normal bad-ass cold demeanor.Okay in this book Ben pissed me off at times he was being such a little scared girl urgh loved him in book 1 but in this one i wanted to smack him around the head and tell him to grow a backbone! Anna irritated me at times when she treated him like her bitch but then again Ben was acting like one soo he kind of brought it on himself.

I was just sitting screaming for him to BE A MAN!! I really hope in the next book we get to see Ben take on a more alpha/dominant role and take care of Anna instead of it always being the other way around. Also I want to see more of Anna in a vulnerable role which I think we definitely will be seeing since the book finished in such a way.

I'll need to find my targets and execute this with precision. There isn't any room for error. This hit is personal. This is a Hit for Freedom.

Okay let me get onto to something that there was a lot of...SECRETS! Damn secrets!!It was like everyone had a secret and each secret linked to the others which made each secret dangerous.Anna and Ben both have secrets and omg I just was like please, please tell each other, I swear it you don't you will regret it!! Things will go bad and it will be because of these secrets and what dya know? I was right!

I think their relationship needs a lot of work they both kept secrets, they both have trust issues and need to work and improve on their relationship or else everything will be going downhill fast!I felt like Anna was babying Ben trying to take care of him and thinking of him as a kid who can't take care of himself, instead she should have looked at him as an equal and told him what was going on so he can take care of himself.

Okay Ben's secret I so knew it! But still he was so out of character I really wanted him to take on his role and quit hiding behind this mask. Each characters hides behind a mask of power, money, greed, control and more.I can't wait to find out more about the new characters introduced and how the story will continue.

On a side note, I so want to know more about Agent, is it just me who finds him so damn cool? Yeah yeah I love a smart guy but C'mon how can you not? he is so good! haha

About the Author
I love to read. I'm a huge fan of books and when I start reading anything, I usually forgo doing everything else, I mean the housework will still be there in the morning (right?). When I love a story or book that I've downloaded, I usually refrain from sleep and am crabby the next day - but only until I pick my iPad up and start reading again!
I was recently described by a reviewer as my writing style is Chick-Lit with an Edge. I liked that so much that that's the way I describe the genre I write.
My goal when writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it's only for a split second.
I'm a go with the flow sort of person and don't really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don't usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I'll be happy to accept.
I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. Every Friday I spend it with my girlfriends where we have 'cake day', which usually consists of a yummy yet nutritious lunch, quickly destroyed by a delicious and devilishly good cake and a caramel latte.
I really don't like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don't believe that's necessary, I mean life is hard enough as it is!
Three things you need to know about me; 1 - I'm fiercely loyal and will bend over backwards to help. 2 - I love chocolate, like A LOT and 3 - I have a huge crush on David Gandy at the moment! (I mean, who hasn't, have you seen the man????)

My Review

5 ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT, FAST PACED, ACTION-PACKED STARS!!

Okay firstly let me say this..you haven't read this book? What the hell are you waiting for? Go grab it right now!!

This book is book 1 of the marked series by J.M.Sevilla and what a tremendous book it is. It all starts off with Lily, we find out that she has just broken up with her ex after taking 2 years or so of mental and physical abuse. She seems lost like her ex took a part of her and turned her into a robot who only follows his instructions. She has moved back in with her mom and two brothers and needs to start living again. Her mundane life is turned on its head when she is told to give some food to the next door neighbour.

Another tremor travels down when I notice the scars. How had I not noticed them right away? It looks like a three-clawed animal tried to scratch out his right eye.

Jay is a hot sexy and scary neighbour who doesn't interact much with others. He always keeps to himself, he has to, its how he lives.Getting attached isn't possible not with the dangers that lurk around him. Its too dangerous, it's a weakness and it can get people killed. So what happens when Lily comes barging into Jay's life and things change.

He can't get involved with Lily, she is too innocent he will end up ruining her.But its all out of his hands. She sees him like no-one else in his life has.Throughout the book you see Lily growing into a much more better version of her. Being with Jay changes her she is more alive than she has ever been. He heals her and makes her see things in a different light. The lily she thought was gone, comes back much stronger.

You also see change in Jay, he becomes more talkative and open with her.Its the first time life seems beautiful and simple. After having a rough time as a kid he has always been somewhat of a loner but Lily is a game changer. He feels like he is being selfish that he should have never got involved in her life, her life will be destroyed if she gets involved. Life isn't so simple for Jay and the last thing he wants is for someone as innocent as Lily to be brought into it.

"But at the same time I want to have this to cherish for the rest of my life.I want to remember a time when my life was perfect, simple, and full of happiness. I've never had any of those things before, but I have that with you. After I leave, I won't ever have it again." - Jay

So what happens when Lily is thrust into Jay's life, she is in danger and entering Jay's world could get her killed. Will she be able to let Jay go? And what happens when she becomes a part of a deadly plan..An amazing book that will have you captivated and will have you reading until 5am.

This book is filled with, action, suspense, twists and turns, swoon worthy moments and a lot of hotness ;) I loved how it had a bit of everything, it was funny, sweet, hot, action-packed, had me on edge and I can't wait for more!
J.M. Sevilla Hurry with the next book :D

"Damn, Lily, you've ruined me." He kisses the top of my head and I nuzzle up under his chin, sedated and content.

Oh and I soo think Vault needs to have his own book he is an interesting character I would love to find out more about. And it would be totally awesome to have a chapter where we are in Dragoni's head, just to see what the bloody hell is going on up there!

Review: Catch (Assassins #1) By Solange Poirier

Synopsis
Sometimes, being in the wrong place at the wrong time is where you need to be for the good things in life to fall into place.

Max Brady is a 25 year old, fresh out of college, ambitious woman that doesn't take crap from anyone, and often uses men before tiring and disposing of them. She’s landed her dream job at the internet search engine company Fiddle. Unfortunately, she is stuck working as an assistant to the company’s CEO, but she’s hopeful that if she plays nice, one day she’ll be promoted.

Catch is an assassin. He’s been working this job for twelve years and now with his family taken care of he is ready to retire. All he wants to do is complete his last assignment, collect his large sum of cash, and then disappear to a nice, quiet place in another country.

When Max makes the huge mistake of sleeping with her boss, she decides to copy some files from his computer to hold as leverage in the event that he may try to fire her. Little does she know, the files hold secrets that can take down her boss and the entire Fiddle company.

That decision changes the course of both of their lives.

Catch is hired to kidnap and kill Max, but instead he chooses to save her life. They go on the run as he tries to formulate a plan to remove the hit on Max, because he believes that she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. As they spend more time together, Catch’s motivation for saving her life changes with his realization that if anything happens to Max he may be unable to live without her.

My Review

4 ASSASSIN LOVING, KICK-ASS, ACTION-PACKED STARS!!

What happens when you are at the wrong place at the wrong time?
One little action can cause such a big catastrophe..

When Max has a drunken one night stand with her boss things are bad.Every assistant he sleeps with ends up fired.Max cant lose her job not after she worked so hard for it.Coming in early to talk and sort out the situation she has found herself in she overhears something she shouldn't and it gets worse she decided to copy the files from his computer to use against him if he wants to fire her.Little doesn't she know that her small action will lead to much bigger consequences.

Catch is an assassin but he doesn't want to live that life anymore, he wants to leave and he has one last hit to complete. He always asks about his hits, he always kills bad people only this time he doesn't ask.He just wants it over with but this time it is different, its kidnapping as well as murder. This is the hit that will change everything..

Max isn't a normal 25 year old woman she is pretty strong, independent, funny, stubborn woman and she doesn't back down. When she comes face to face with Catch who has kidnapped her nothing seems to make sense until she remembers the files she copied off her boss's computer.

Catch has a bad feeling about this, everything feels wrong about his target, she seems so innocent, feisty yet innocent. What could she have possibly done to get herself in this position. So when he takes off the gag to let her explain things change and he can't seem to leave her to be tortured.

Catch and Max are so funny together, they piss each other off yet they are perfect for each other.Max has always needed to be the strong one, the one who protects others so when she meets Catch things change. He can take care of her but will she let him?
The chemistry between Catch and Max is electric and the sexual tension is everywhere, will they succumb to their desires or is this a whole lot more?

In my opinion Catch was never bad/evil he was always trying to do the right thing even if he was an assassin he had his reason and he wasn't the killer you see on the outside. This book is in both Max's and Catch's POV and you get an insight to the assassin and how it all happened.

I liked how this book was fast-paced and I could imagine the scenes like a movie playing in my head.I liked the story and how it all came together except the 1-2 chapters before the end where I felt time moved too fast other things I just didn't want that there but hey the ending was good and all was well.

Soo I really wanted book 2 to have it continue Catch and Max's story but that's not happening, oh well Snitch seemed interesting too I wonder what his story is and I can't wait to find out!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~
My Review
5 BRILLIANT,FAST-PACED,I-AM-ON-EDGE, OMG-I-NEED-MORE STARS!!

Okay wow! what a bloody roller-coaster ride!
The starting at first was like eh what's going on? Then you find out about Dante, Nick's dad and his story. In the previous books we aren't told much about his dad and what we are told doesn't show Dante in a positive light. The starting is vital and explains a lot into what actually happened before Nick and everyone else was born and how Savage has always been evil, and how he effects those around him.I felt so sorry for Dante and I totally understand why he wasn't close to his kids, why he pushed them away.He was like a little Nick aww bless him! You find out that Savage is an evil controlling power hungry man who like to be the one in charge.

The Poison carries on from where the previous book left off.I was a little nervous about reading this one as I just really didn't want Nick to go bad or bad things to happen! Oh how things changed.I was hooked and I couldn't stop reading, the twists and turns had me on edge and jittery.I needed to know what would happen next.
As Nick's power starts to heighten so does his enemies.

She falls to the floor with him in her arms and cries right along with him, and along with Elijah, me, and everyone else within ear shot. No on is dry-eyed tonight.

When you go to war some people will fall and others will survive. There are some heart-breaking moments that I just did not expect. Why? whyyyy? how cruel *sobbing*

I loved all the characters as I always have in this series the new ones were mostly evil! I wanted to help kill them pftt. Kayla as always loved her spirit and charisma, she kept on fighting, she can't lose.
And she is going to go get her Nick back.Yes Yes you go girl!!

“Will I die running or will I die fighting? For Nick ... I would die fighting the devil himself.”

Nicky is such a cutie aww! In this book you see more of Elijah loved him, his funny comments and well just all of him. I really hope he settles down I feel so sorry for him as he wants a family like Nicks.
He is so sweet and lovely with Kayla in this one but there is still banter Ryan, Elijah and Kayla make a great team!

True to his word, Elijah never makes a move, but he holds my hand whenever I need him to.-Kayla

I want my Nick back!! NOW! I hope the last book ends well.I was surprised that this book doesn't end on a cliffhanger yet it still makes you want to carry on reading. Ahhh Brilliant! Well done Jennifer Loren!!

Right now lets get to Franky or as I like to call her..Fanny face! Urghhh I wanted to kill her..did I say kill her? why yes I guess I did but wait i don't want to shoot her or stab her no no that would just be too kind.I would like to rip her apart and chop her into tiny pieces coz I am just an awesome person :)

Bring on the next book!!

Truth or Dare links:

Author Info:

Bio: Ember Casey is a twenty-something writer who lives in Atlanta, Georgia in a den of iniquity (or so she likes to tell people). When she's not writing steamy romances, you can find her whipping up baked goods (usually of the chocolate variety), traveling (her bucket list is infinite), or generally causing trouble (because somebody has to do it). She is the author of HIS WICKED GAMES and TRUTH OR DARE.

My Review
4 Funny, Quick, Wicked stars!

This is a short book filled with a little bit of everything, drama, humour, romance, heartbreak and more!
I enjoyed the first book and was interested to see how the story would continue and what would happen with Calder and Lily's relationship. In book 1 His Wicked Games they were pretty much all alone and the games helped build a sort of bond but what would happen when other stuff gets in the way? They aren't alone anymore what happens when jobs and distance gets in the way? Will their relationship survive or was it doomed from the beginning?

"My time at his estate changed me. Calder challenged me. He made me feel wilder, stronger, and more alive than I've ever felt before. I don't want to go back to being "ordinary" me again.

Lily and her father are still struggling for money and her father's opinion on Calder isn't a positive one.Lily is hiding her relationship as she doesn't want to explain how they got together, I mean come on, Dad we fucked in his mansion oh and in my car doesn't sound good haha!

Calder is struggling with his new life and Lily can sense it but what can you do if the person you care about doesn't want to open up? As much as she wants to help him she cant force him.Calder has always been able to handle stuff with money and power but what happens when he is stripped of it all? Without the money, name and power who is he?

So when Calder says he wants to take things slow and hold off on sex Lily gets worried about the distance Calder is putting between them and to get them closer and lighten things up she suggests a game of Truth or Dare. It brings more fun to their relationship as Calder cant ever refuse to play a game.

Calder did some silly stuff I wanted to hit him over the head and tell him to wake the hell up.He didn't realise that he was hurting Lily by distancing himself from her I understand that he didn't want her involved or for her to get hurt but you just cant do that.It made Lily feel useless and pushed to a side at times he needed to let her in because you cant handle everything alone. I loved the sensitive side to Calder, everything that happened to him took its toll and he was vulnerable and hurting.

"Lily, by the end of tonight, I'm going to be your everything."
My everything, my body trembles at the idea.

I'm glad it all worked out at the end but they still have a lot to improve on in the relationship department they are nowhere near perfect but then again who is?

My Review

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"Don't use your handsome smile on me.I am going back to work in two days, I don't care if I have to pour drinks with crutches holding me up." She crossed her arms and looked sideways at him.
"You think I'm handsome?"

When I read the synopsis I was like ooh sounds good lets get started when I saw the cover I was like..uhmm well..strange this sooo needs to be changed.
Want to know how I pictured the cover? I saw a hot security guard standing with his arms folded and so on..This cover is soo not what I imagined and if I saw this cover before reading it I would have skipped it, I know I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover blah blah blah but that's exactly what I would have done in a rush.

So I kind of made my own cover pahah! I think this is how the cover should be..something kinda like this..what dya think?

"This isn't Kansas anymore Dorothy. Don't make me fire you on your first night, because I might get get used to seeing you in those shorts, or as you think lack thereof."

Abbi has always lived in her small town and never done anything fearless. She couldn't afford it and well she felt safe in her town so moving felt scary but times have changed and its time for her to be fearless, to explore and to find herself.

So when she finds out about her fathers death and that he has left her some money she takes a chance and steps into the unknown. She decides to move out of the small town and buys a one way ticket to LA.
Here she gets a job at a luxurious club and tries to make it on her own.Its where her life collides with Ryan's life and everything changes for the both of them.

Ryan isn't in the mood but has to go in for a job at a club.He is a CEO of LA’s hottest bodyguard service and when he steps into the club and spots Abbi things change. She intrigues him, captivates him and he wants to know more about her.Fighting demons of his own and being tangled into Abbi's life, has he found his other half? Or will this all lead to more trouble than its worth?

"..it was all for this man because in her heart or hearts she knew now that he was her destiny.Fate had made damn sure she wasn't faltering from its plan any longer."

Ryan is awesome! He made me laugh, swoon and fall for him.I liked the other characters as well and wanted to know more about them..so here is me hoping the next book is about Gabe..please tell me there is a book about Gabe?

"Holy Shit, you got it bad man.I am going to have to meet this chick that has stolen your heart," Jace fluttered his eyes towards Ryan.

So yeh I enjoyed this book even though at first I was like ahhh crap its not in first person *sobs* Yes I do prefer it to be in first person as I feel closer to the characters that way but hey I still enjoyed this and don't regret reading it.I finished this really quickly wanting to know what would happen next it kept me intrigued until the end and well I wanted more.It finished and I was like..there needs to be more! There were a few things I was like uhm what happened to him? What about this urghh answer my questions!! Lets hope the next book solves that problem for me.

This is a fast-paced, funny, hot book with suspense and much more..
This is more than a love story its a journey, a story that keeps you on edge and hooked until the end.

Review: Hit 149 - Anna Brookes First Chapter (HiT #1) By Margaret McHeyzer

Synopsis
‘I’m standing here, on top of the building and I need to remind myself to breathe. It’s not like I haven’t done this 146 times before. It’s not like I’m NOT the best in the business. I am the best at this because as sick as it sounds, I WANT to be here. I love doing what I do. I can tell you that I have been in this line of work for the last 13 years. I didn’t quite fall into it, I actually sought it out. I am undoubtedly the best in the industry. I am respected amongst all the big players. I am the biggest player of them all. If a rookie tried to come along and show me up as an example of their capabilities, it didn’t take long for me to work out what they were about.
There is no hesitation. No second thoughts. No doubts. No emotions. No feelings.’ ~ Anna Brookes

Anna Brookes is the most dangerous woman that you hope you will never know.
Her life of danger started the day she turned 15.
The 13 years that follow shapes her life to have her become the most deadly and lethal woman.
HiT 149 becomes her most difficult target. Does she pull the trigger or does she risk becoming the target herself?

My Review
"My name is Anna Brookes and I am the most dangerous woman you will ever know.I am the best assassin in the world."

Wow! I loved this book, what a bloody roller-coaster. I was hooked right from the start and I really didn't want it to end.

Anna's is a killer..Are killers born or are they created?
Anna is a strong, deadly, independent, arrogant at times woman with revenge and killing on her mind.
From the first time she held a gun she knew that she would always want it, need it..Shooting was always easy for her she became a star at the shooting range. Her aim was always on point.

"Mistake number one. There is no warning in this business. There is no second chances. Which is why, I was on top of my game.

There is no hesitation. No second chances. No doubts. No emotions. No feelings."

Her life is turned upside down at the age of 15 when two shady men become interested in her talent and end up destroying her only living family. She has to learn to survive by herself. In a world so cruel that its either kill or be killed.

"If I don't take out the target, I become the target."

What happens when things change? What happens when she meets a man she cant stop thinking about and then finds out that he is her next victim.

When Anna meets Ben sparks fly and things seem much more than a one night stand. She cant have that, she cant get close to him but it seems that life has other plans.

At the start of this book you meet a woman who is content in her life, she is a killer and she has embraced her lifestyle there is nothing amiss. At the end of this book you find out that she is much more human than she makes out to be, she wants and needs love as much as everyone else its just that she has been alone for so long and avoids attachments that she feels like she is numb to it all.

"I an untraceable, I am unidentifiable, I am a ghost.I choose to have no friends; I choose to live a life of isolation and solitude."

This book had everything I needed, it was hot, fast-paced, heart-racing, filled with suspense mystery and much more. All I can say is ..Wow you go girl..now give me book 2 NOW!:D

There were so many unexpected twists and turns I was never bored I felt like I was in an action movie!Oh and I loved Ben, he is amazing all the way through I hope we find out more about him and maybe some more from his POV. This book was in Anna's POV and it's awesome but I want more Ben as well!
