Review: Faking It (Losing It #2) by Cora Carmack

Synopsis

Mackenzie “Max” Miller has a problem. Her parents have arrived in town for a surprise visit, and if they see her dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings, they just might disown her. Even worse, they’re expecting to meet a nice, wholesome boyfriend, not a guy named Mace who has a neck tattoo and plays in a band. All her lies are about to come crashing down around her, but then she meets Cade.

Cade moved to Philadelphia to act and to leave his problems behind in Texas. So far though, he’s kept the problems and had very little opportunity to take the stage. When Max approaches him in a coffee shop with a crazy request to pretend to be her boyfriend, he agrees to play the part. But when Cade plays the role a little too well, they’re forced to keep the ruse going. And the more they fake the relationship, the more real it begins to feel.

My Review

4 Brilliant Stars!!

Ahhh this was awesome I love Cade!

“I never dated a girl like her, and she's probably never dated a guy like me. But sometimes you don't know what you're looking for until it's already knocked you flat on your back.”

I enjoyed Losing It and Faking It was even better. Always liked Cade and was so glad he got his own book yay!
Cade is such a good guy the best friend and just an awesome person! He is working towards getting his masters in theater. At the start of this book and many times throughout it i just wanted to give Cade a big hug!

Cade is still not over Bliss but Carrick and Bliss are moving forward in their relationship, its time for Cade to move on.So when Bliss asks him to their Thanksgiving he makes an excuse about going home.Still worked up about everything that is happening sitting in the Coffee shop he spots Max with her lousy boyfriend.

Max is a beautiful, strong women and music is her life.To continue with her music career which is just starting up she needs to keep her parents happy so they keep providing her with money. This means covering up her tattoos and piercings and taming her wild hair.

“You don’t know how much I’ve thought about this tattoo. I want to memorize it so that every time I close my eyes I can see the way it accentuates your body.”

So when Max is at the Coffee Shop and her parents decide to make a surprise appearance and want to meet her "nice" boyfriend which is soo not her current boyfriend who is a musician and everything her parents would hate she spots Cade and asks him to play along as her boyfriend for her parents, he agrees, after all its what he does he acts.He charms Max's parents and now they want to see him again..

“I never dated a girl like her, and she's probably never dated a guy like me. But sometimes you don't know what you're looking for until it's already knocked you flat on your back.”

Max and Cade are polar opposites yet they are the same. They find comfort with each other and he sees the real Max.I loved the banter and all the characters other than Max's sister-in-law who i wanted to punch!I loved Milo! He needs a book :D

“After what could have been an eternity or a few seconds, Cade whispered, "Pain changes us. Mine made me want to be perfect, so that no one would ever want to leave me again”

The books takes you on a journey and shows how both main characters change and grow throughout the book and how they learn to accept and deal with the past and move forward.I truly enjoyed this book it had a bit of everything..romance,comedy,anger,tears,heartbreak and love

“Living is hard. And every day our feet get heavier and we pick up more baggage. So, we stop and take a breath, close our eyes, reset our minds. It's natural. As long as you open your eyes and keep going.”
